4 stars because the mod is currently broken. I understand that you have your own life outside of modding, but please, it’s been 3 years since you’ve updated this and I would very much enjoy having this technology in beamng.

I liked this mod when it was working, but sadly it doesn't work now. Anyways it there gonna be a rework soon? Or even will the rework ever happen? Its sad seeing this cool masterpiece left to rust.
PS. I just saw your profile and your mods and i didn't see any of the mods being updated in a while. Did you quit making mods or are you taking a break? LMK -

- 1/5,
Unfortunately does not work with any vehicle I tried from the list. A message shows up saying the engine was restarted manually due to idling

10/10 does everything you will think it would do and more. Finally i can rage in game too when the engine shuts off just when i want to press the gas. so immersive!

Great mod but 1 5 seconds is way too much 1 second is how it is in modern cars sometimes even before you stop the car will shut off. 2 I remember someone else made a stop-start mod for only the etk and when you step off the brake it started really fast. Modern cars have a second starter to start the car faster instead of wearing out the main starter and it starts it faster. finally, 3 it should start when you let off the brake not the gas. Butt overall I love it thanks...

All of the features you've mentioned (faster idle time, quicker restarts and brake starting) are already implemented and coming out very soon. Additionally, you'll be able to configure the required time idling between 0s (instant) and 5s, with a 1.5s default.

Another suggestion: the engine shouldn't wait for the throttle to be pressed to turn back on; instead it should come on when the brake is released, that way it's already running by the time you step on the gas. That's the way my real world car, a 2019 chevy equinox, does this.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll add this to the next version :)

I agree with Respvin and might also add, that some cars turn off without ANY delay. While slowing down to a complete stop under certain circumstances, it'll shut off at 2km\h and be off when you already stopped. In order to further minimize the idle fuel consumption.

I've come to a middle ground of a 1 second delay for the next version. I do agree 5 seconds is a bit too much, and even 3 seconds is a bit long.
The delay is based off the one car I drove with this tech, as it had a small delay before turning off in case you pulled up at lights and they went green as you did, saving you an engine cycle. 1s is a nice middle ground as it shuts off nice and fast but gives you that small bit of wriggle room if you do stop but need to go again.
I may look into seeing if there's a way for me to have this configurable per-car, ie. in the tuning settings, as having it as an option is probably the best thing.

Very cool mod, one thing to note is that it doesnt work with the RK engines mod

I'll try and find out if I can patch it to work with them, however I'm not going to guarantee that I can as I'm still learning Lua :)

While I don’t like this feature irl, I kinda like having this in the game. 5/5

Great mod, I like the realism it adds!
I have a couple of suggestions though, first is that the 5 second delay is a bit too much, maybe consider decreasing it to 3 seconds as that's more realistic. Second, the manual gearbox implementation is not good at the moment, IRL cars require you to be in neutral without the clutch to stop the engine and the engine restarts when the clutch is depressed.-
Author's Response
Glad to hear it :)
I'll play with the idea of 3 seconds and see how it feels.
As for manuals, I'm sorry I didn't realize - I've never owned a car with this tech in it, let alone a manual with it. I'll change it over to uses the neutral gear instead of first, and maybe add the ability for the engine to restart when the clutch is pressed in, as my guess is when you want the engine to start, you'd be putting your foot on the clutch first, instead of the throttle.
