90s super car inspired by the Jaguar XJ220 and Mercedes CLK-GTR

The Apollo's story is a simple one. The engineers at JM wanted to slap their new Drake V8 into a super car and go completely bonkers with the engine's ability.

Success was easily obtained. Johnson Motors considered the Drake V8 to be the equivalent of men reaching the moon and their ultimate vessel for that moon mission would be called "Apollo".

A naturally aspirated leviathan with a streamlined body and the king of dragons slammed in the back, producing 717HP to one of the most solid RWD systems still around, 30 years later.

Johnson Motors took the Apollo to the next level and brought it to GT racing championships. Fitting it with a wider body, dual spoiler system and a malicious looking roof scoop, the Apollo GTK-LR 1 took it's first circuit victory at Laguna Seca only 3 months after it was born.

Feeling the thrill of the checkered flag, JM decided to step things up and entered Le Mans with a Group C1 reimagining of the vehicle. While it shared only the headlights and tailights with the actual Apollo, the success of the GC1 car caused Johnson to produce an additional 500 Apollos and 25 GTK-LR 1s.
