Unsupported Legacy Tires Pack 1.02

Brings back the old version of tires to the game

Important notice! While this patch is still functional as of 0.23, I will no longer maintain it for the time being. Use at your own discretion.

The 0.20 update has changed many of the tires. While some remain unchanged, others have been modified to the point where certain mods and configurations spawn without tires in 0.20 and later.

This add-on attempts to address the issue to ensure that mods and configurations made prior to 0.20 that supports universal wheels and tires spawn properly in 0.20 and later. I did the hard work of comparing what tires were changed between versions 0.19 and 0.20; the 0.19 tires are separate from the 0.20 ones.

Now you might be asking, what's the point of this add-on if I could swap the tires myself? In some cases, certain wheels made in 0.19 and earlier might not fit with the 0.20 tires, so if you are struggling to find the right tires in 0.20, or if you missed certain 0.19 tires in 0.20, then this mod may be for you.

Here's an example, using the ETK S-Series by NinetyNine. It is one of many mods that spawn without tires in 0.20 (and subsequent versions):

With the add-on installed, it spawns correctly and properly, tires and all:

    How to Install:
Download the .zip file and drop it into the mods folder like every other mod. Or hit the Subscribe button to have the game do that for you. And that's all you need to do; there's no need to change anything inside any mod's contents. Run the game and you should be good to go.

Updating from an older version to a newer one? Be sure to clear cache and remove the old version before installing the new one.

    Version 1.02:
Removed another set of conflicting tires from the add-on

    Version 1.01:
Removed a set of conflicting tires from the add-on

    Version 1.0:
    Initial release

    Disclaimer:
This mod is provided as-is. While I have double checked every single one of them via internal names to avoid as many conflicts as possible, there's still a small chance that something might conflict with the 0.20 tires. Use at your own discretion.

Nonetheless, please report any bugs or issues found on this add-on. It's marked as experimental for a reason.

I will only update the pack when the developers make any other changes to the tires in future updates. Also, if the mods you're using still spawn without tires even after installing this add-on, then said mods themselves are to blame, and I can't do anything about that. You could try adding back the tires yourself in the parts selection menu and then save the configurations from there, but keep in mind that because I marked the pack as Unsupported, you should use it at your own discretion.

!QUESTION! Hey Barry, wonderful mod! Solves all my problems, but I was wondering, are the tires equipped on the vehicles that do not need this patch? (Such as stock BeamNG vehicles) If so, does it effect there performance in any way, like would the old tires make drifting and handling different? Since they would be using the old tires? Thanks!

As far as I know, the patch does not apply to official content vehicles, since they have been adapted to use the updated tires from the 0.20 update. But rather, it is to be used for mods that still rely on certain pre-0.20 tires, in which there are a decent amount. Because none of the code was changed when porting over said tires, they most likely retain the tire physics from 0.19. Though I wouldn't be too surprised if that wasn't the case. Hopefully my explanation adequately answers your questions.

Does this just bring back the old tires with the old tire physics or does it just fix the tires not spawning and adds the new tire physics? Otherwise thanks for this. miss my old mustang

Think of this mod as a patch that adds back some tires that were changed in 0.20 and later. It may or may not have the same physics as the current tires. But thanks for the review.
