Alpha Less-Poptarty Rider for the Hirochi Outlaw v0.80.1

A rider for the Outlaw... who won't fit as nicely in a standard toaster

  1. oioioioo
Hey guys, I'm back with another throw-together mod.

This time it addresses the rider model on @thatjackguy 's "Hirochi Outlaw" mod. The rider, in case you were blind, looks kinda like a Poptart. I downloaded a free human-skeleton model, scaled it to my liking, and then used it as a template to stretch and simplify the existing rider-mesh to fit over it.

    Here's a couple "Glamour" shots in case you hate reading;
    stickman.png CURRENT RIDER:
    man.png "NEW" RIDER:
    woman.png FEMALE RIDER:

    FEATURES:

    - A human skeleton will now properly fit inside him:
    poptart.png BEFORE:
    FredJones.png AFTER:
    TheGrinch.png
Old and new male rider super-imposed (Old rider is red, new is green... duh)

    - Riders' now have five fingers on each hand, although their hands are now open...

    - Riders' feet are now foot-shaped and are no longer made of tasty, tasty flatbread

    - The male rider is now 6'1". I had originally intended to make him 6'-even, but I forgot about the soles of his shoes... so I guess HE IS 6'-even, but he stands 6'1"... I think he was roughly 6'4" before.
(You can't tell in the images because I smushed his pieces together so he'd fit the skeleton for comparison)

    - The female rider is a scaled-down and proportionally-adjusted copy of the male rider. She is 5' 8", so both riders are slightly above-average in terms of height

    - Riders' heads are slightly less tiny. I just scaled it up 1.15x for the male rider. I believe it's like 1.046x for the female rider

    - Some slight texture fixes, very minor

    - Now featuring a complete, scratch-made, from-the-ground-up dedicated rider .Jbeam:

(Male rider on the left, female on the right)

    PLANS:

    - Animated hands with "breakGroup" models, similar to existing in-game glass. I want to have their hands be animated to semi-appropriately "operate" the hand-controls (Clutch, throttle, front brake) and when the rider breaks off of the bike, make the animated hand invisble and make the current open hand visible. (...Maybe animated feet......???[shifter/rear brake])

    - A female rider model (Because equality and stuff) She's done (Essentially)

    - Customizable rider suit/helmet colors (Stretch goal) (In the works. Early-preview colorable helmets are included)

    - Helmet accessories (Stretch goal) Already in the works (Kinda)
screenshot_2025-04-20_20-27-15.png (Early preview of helmet accessories. "Cute Kitty Ears" shown)

    - A physical, .Jbeam'd head to reduce complication and redundancy with helmet accessories, and to reduce frustration with prop-weirdness. "Future-proofing"...

    - A motocross style open-face helmet with goggles???

    KNOWN BUGS/ISSUES:

    - Rider legs are kinda weak at the moment. I completely changed the leg and have added a .Jbeam'd foot with an ankle in an attempt to reduce mesh stretching.
This added complication will take time to completely de-bug

    - Riders' hands are always open. I'm going to address this and give them animated hands at some point, for now just be grateful they have five fingers on each hand...

    - "Clip-on handlebars" will invert the female riders' upper-arm (except "Cafe Racer"?????).
I'll fix this as soon as I can figure out how to.

    - No included configs!!! Go into vehicle config and under "Rider," select "EXPERIMENTAL MALE", or "EXPERIMENTAL FEMALE"

    CREDITS:

    - @thatjackguy for making a sick-nasty free bike mod

    - Me for making his rider look less "Poptarty"

    - Also me for making the female rider model essentially from scratch. I just couldn't get her to look right by stretching the male model, so I had to almost completely remake the torso and legs and even then I don't think it's perfect. Her arms and hands were pretty much just scaled/adjusted

    - Also also me for remaking the rider .Jbeams from the ground up

I've been thinking about making an animated car-driver mod for a long time, I just haven't experimented enough to figure out how to make it do what I want.

Anyway, if I ever did do that, I'd probably have to make dedicated models for it... and I would DEFINITELY make my own textures, this mod entirely re-uses ThatJackGuy's textures... for now.

Great mod! The models are incredibly detailed, and it’s a huge improvement over the original. One issue I’ve noticed is that crashing head-on at high speed causes the model to stretch and glitch, eventually leading to a "pause simulation' error. Fixing this would make the mod even better. Keep up the great work!

Funnily enough, the male model is actually less "detailed" than the original, based on the number of vertices. Female model is comparable since it's hard to make anything look curved without loads of vertices.

The exploding riders issue is fully fixed as of 6/10/2025. The issue was caused by torsionBars, which have been fully removed and replaced with
      L-Beams

      Thanks!

This is great! I've always seen that rider and thought, "What if it could be better," and this is exactly what you've done!

Thanks for the advice about reaching out to mod approval or this may never have been released! Enjoy!

I just wanted to make sure the mod would be able to be public before I poured more time into it.
