Yes, it is supposed to sit so high. Have you been to rural sardegna for example (my aunt lives there) and looked at the streets? You don't want it too be lower in italy.
The Esperienza is a stylish, leightweight (911kg), and quick sportscar. As stated in the subtile, not the fastest, not about speed, not about handling or laptimes, but rather about Experience (hence the name: esperienza=experience).
Whilst being sporty, it is also a rather useable touring-car. So: no handling monster, but ratehr the car to drive on small italian mountain roads with the ability to push the accelerator down on a straight. Whilst listening to Eros Ramazotti. Or the engine.
Power comes from a N/A 3.5l V6 which features really advanced tech (made out if alsi and titanium, dohc with 5 valves per cylinder, dual vvti, very high compression, race air intake, di with individual throttle per cylinder, etc etc) . And sounds as good as a V12 (at least a turbocharged one^^)
The styling is a lot simpler as planned, as i had to reattach every single fixture. It looks cleaner (i think the original was maybe a bit too much).
