Maltese Registration Plates 1.2

(This is my first mod, so quality may not be the best.)

This mod includes some of the license plates from Malta, in the simple ABC 123 format. It took some time to make these, given I had issues with letter placement and spacing and sizes, but I eventually figured them out.

So, the plates.

There are three types of license plate included in this mod: Standard, Red and Classic. All of size 52 x 11cm, as per EU standard.

First, the standard plates.

Standard plates are the most common in Malta, because...well they're the default plate for every car sold. Three letters, three numbers, FE Schrift and the EU band. That's it.

Next up, the red plates. This is a bit of a strange one to explain, so I'll try my best



So, for some reason the registration tax in Malta is very high (probably emissions?), sometimes even exceeding the car's value. And nobody wants to lower it (except the European Commission). So yes, supercars can have a reg tax of €250,000. Ouch.

Because of this, the red plates were introduced in early 2015. You will pay only a third of the license, however you're only allowed to drive the car on weekends (Recently includes Fridays after 6pm) and public holidays. You can drive the car on weekdays only if it needs a VRT test (UK MOT test equivalent) or if you have permission. You can't even park the car on the roads on weekdays.

Finally, the classic plates.

Let's say you have a car of at least 30 years of age, and it's in absolutely pristine condition. Why not put it on classic plates to tell it apart from other cars? You will be provided a pair of black plates with silver lettering (nice, eh?) and you also benefit from a lower road license. Good?



Well, keep this in mind: Don't go over 3,000km in a year or you'll have to pay full license. Also, only use said car for casual driving, no carrying goods or other people (Because you'll be fined. Or pay twice the registration tax. Or go to prison for up to 6 months). Also no mods and keep it clean.
(which is difficult if it's a 90s Mazda. Yet I still see NA MX-5s on classic plates).

OK, so that's the useless information over. (Nobody's reading all that, they want license plates.)

(Side note: Make sure you type the plate as follows: ABC 123 with a space.)
(Also: If you get a no texture and the plate is small, check if you are using the normal size license plates. If so, swap them for the small version of the plates instead, as those are US sized.)
