Modern ETK Diesel V8 1.0

Combination of comfort and effortless diesel power

  1. kimaq
I wanted a modern big diesel experience.
    So I made this:

    ETK 4.2L Diesel V8
    by kimaq
The modern sporty 8-cylinder powered by truck fuel. This piece of engineering, heavily inspired by Audi 4.2 TDI, brings peace into cabin and unstoppable pace forward. Its stock power figures of 380HP and 860Nm compete with petrol powered engines. Paired with 'Diesel 8-Speed Automatic Transmission' and 'Diesel V8 Locking Torque Converter' allows ride at as low as 900 RPM.
    This mod contains:

    • 4.2L V8 Diesel Engine with possibility of stage 1 upgrades
    • Diesel V8 Locking Torque Converter
    • Rennspecht 8D config for ETK 800 (no configs for ETK K-Series but all of the above available)

    Torque Curves

Feel free to modify but don't reupload this mod without my permission nor act like it's yours.
    Enjoy.

Not bad, not bad at all. I really appreciate the sounds, you had a great idea by mixing the V8D and the bastion's V8 exhaust sound. However you should definitely raise the muffling of the engine sound to something like 0.850-0.9, this whistle noise is very annoying. The gearbox is good, I like how it shifts extremly soon but sometimes too soon especially when starting the car, the gearbox makes some weird shifts when going from first to second or third gear. Maybe putting the stage 1 ecu on the Rennspecht and adding a more basic config with the base ECU would make the mod feel a bit more polished. Keep up the good work !

Thank you for the ample review!
About that whistling noise. I spent hours tweaking sound values, but I just couldn't get rid of it without reducing and muffling engine's noise to absurd levels.
I haven't noticed any issues in lower gears, but I'll take a deeper look into it. By your descripton, it could just be getting confused by all the torque whilst having enabled traction control.
And about configs, well, I wanted it to be something exclusive, so I chose it to be a Rennspecht model as well as I don't like making configs not gonna lie :D.
