Outdated Dansworth 1500 Powertrain Mod 1.3

New radiators, new transmissions. Get driving :)

You must have the D1500 bus mod for this to work, it does not include the bus mod.

Thanks to @ThreeDTech21 for allowing me to release this mod and providing the excellent base vehicle!

    New update includes these radiators:
Dirty Radiator (not very effective, can overheat on climbs)
Normal Radiator (more realistic, can overheat but better than dirty radiator)
High Performance Radiator (wayy OP but needed for 1776hp drag bus, thermostat removed so max water flow at all times)

    Comes with these options:
    4-Speed Automatic (Alison based)
5-Speed Automatic (4spd plus an intermediary gear for performance)
6-Speed Automatic (5spd plus an overdrive gear)
    7-Speed Automatic (some tweaks to 5spd + 2xoverdrive gears)
6-Speed OD manual (changed ratios, 1st is now 2nd so be prepared to slip the clutch a bit).

    How the transmissions feel:
4-Speed is old fashioned, it does what it needs to but under WOT at 30MPH it hangs onto 2nd too long, then into 3rd there is a huge RPM drop, but the torque will allow it to keep accelerating.

5-Speed fixes the 2nd-3rd jump and has a more durable torque converter. This is a good transmission and is almost never faulted, but is a little loud on the motorway and fuel consuming, especially at 60-70MPH

6-Speed adds that overdrive gear necessary to increase highway mileage, also beefs up the torque converter.

7-Speed has the 6 speed plus another overdrive gear. This allows for 70MPH at around 1500RPM. Beefed up torque converter allows it to handle the T600 better.

Now includes Ford Triton V10 engine, torque curve courtesy of @Capkirk

Great mod! But could you put a plow or tow hitch on it?

hmm, that's more on the body side of things. I'm doing a powertrain mod, not a complete bus mod, ask the original creator of this bus and you might get somewhere :)

oooh, now that's an idea :P
Ive already got an update for this coming soon, so i'll slip the 4WD in there or in the next update. It's all ready, just haven't uploaded it yet.

The High Performance radiator really helps with cooling the 18L V8

      Author's Response
Yeah, i sized the radiator to keep up with the demands of the V8 and T600 turbo, it's a shame that the turbocharger overheats but i can't fix that.

The 18L V8 is going to be supported in the next update. It has 1776 horsepower, and a top speed of 170MPH but after a while at full throttle the turbocharger overheats and fails.
