I am sorry but this map runs like rubbish. It's a real shame because it's very well made/looks great. I have an i7 950 which hit's about 35% usage, 12gb of ram and a gtx 960 2gb which should run this fairly well but I am getting a rubbish 25 FPS when looking towards most parts of the map.

Let me know via the discussion forums if you've got up-to-date drivers, Nvidia users did have issues from fall last year to this spring with random slowdowns especially on Windows 10. www.nvidia.com
Use MEDIUM DETAIL, you're most likely hitting the 2gb texture limit on your video memory (video card). Use an app like Asus GPU TWEAK or similar gpu-monitor software to see what it is. I can run with my Radeon 7850 2gb on HIGH or MEDIUM and not drop below 35~42fps (high, medium, respectively). Your I7 950 should be good enough to run this game 35~40fps minimum with most any CAR or pickup. Sure, it's a LOT of landscape, and a LOT of space, and decently-detailed water-reflections... but it should not be an issue. Other folks with GTX 960s are doing fine with it. Consider turning down reflections a bit, or dialing the graphics DETAIL (texture resolution) to medium. If you're on version 6 you won't notice. Version 7 has more 2k/4k textures for folks with better video. In other words, your video card is better than mine, and is running WORSE, this should not be the case!
Consider updating the driver, if that doesn't work, dial your settings back. Remember, this isn't 10~20 miles of road & path, it's 60~70 miles of road and path! Give me a full system spec if possible including your PSU in your PC.

This map is awesome. IDK if im the only person that does this, but ill sit down in front of my 3 mismatching monitors and g27 and just drive for hours on end. it clears my mind and this map is perfect for it. ive emptied the d25 tank like 2 times in one sitting...

You are far from the only one. That's what these maps are designed for. Check out So-Cal Interstate if you haven't yet, and if you've got a really cutting edge gaming machine, try out the Tennessee USA Beta2 on the forums - a whopping 144 sq/mile map, possibly the biggest map in Beam.
Both maps I mentioned have atleast 112 miles of roadway.

In windowed-mode, press F11 to toggle into the editor, choose LIGHTING from the menu-bar, choose BASIC LIGHTING, wait up to a minute for the program to become responsive again, now press F11 to go back to the game, you can fullscreen if you wish then. This option doesn't save but it takes you into the hidden Directx 9 mode, which is great for older video boards, but won't help if you've got an older cpu that's drowning in this game. Thanks for the compliments, this was built off Ouerbacker's Black Hills map with permission, and the Black Cliff/Black Hills idea was his. I just kept it in to preserve as much of it as possible. I only added the 15-mile highway, it's graphics (so many!), and most of the surface roads, and the cheap-excuse-for-a-silo starting point. Thanks.

Some lag when loading in but after that first 30 seconds it works great. Great map!!

It only takes a few seconds here once the map comes up... 3~4 seconds after the map appears it's good. The rest is up to processor/disk drive speed, and Beamng.drive being early release. On a hard drive it'll take a little longer than say a recent SSD, same goes for older-model system processors. Your mileage may vary, but in the end, this is the most smooth-running map I've worked on (and also the smallest). Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for taking time to rate it. Check out my other map if you enjoy this one, and I will have more highway/large open road maps in the future.

That's what it's made for. There's also a few semi-hidden jumps formed into the landscape and a few toppled signboards for when you get bored. Do enjoy. Thanks for taking time to rate and give feedback.
