Lore:
In 1946 Marcos de Preston, a 24 year old spanish/american marketing man funded a mix-company called Preston Corporation.
In July of that year he started developing a car, called the Cyclop Torpedo. de Preston worked quick, and in late 1947 he finished the
Prototype, called the Preston Torpedo. In summer 1948 the car was finished, and received the name cyclop because of its third
headlight in the middle. The Cyclop had a 3 Liter 6-Cylinder Boxer Engine producing 107 Horsepower. de Preston developed four body styles, only 2 were sold normally and the prototype of the third one was almost finished, when his company went bankrupt in August 1949. 400 Preston Cyclop 48S (Sedan) and 150 Preston Cyclop 48C (Coupe) were sold. The prototype of the 4-door Coupe called Preston Cyclop 48C-4 was found in 1999. The Cyclop suffered from dreadful build quality, and was vastly overpriced. Preston also started a marketing campaign, which was an insane flop. The advertising slogan "The first fully new car since 50 years" wasn't true, de Prestons dream ended in 2 Million Dollars of Debt and a bankrupt company.​
