Sakutu Dangan (1986)
In 1986 Sakutu and Pochette develop the new platform on which to base the new cars. The wheelbase has been lengthened to 2.8 metres, but the general configuration has remained the same. For the new Dangan, Sakutu chooses a 2-litre 4-cylinder boxer engine, supercharged by a turbocharger, capable of delivering 150 horsepower to all four wheels. One of Sakutu's main goals was to create an extremely comfortable and safe car. The car is extremely pleasant to drive, with a precise and reactive gearbox, much improved compared to the previous series, with very direct and fast changes of direction, but which allow you to maintain full control of the car. The mid-range Japanese station wagon therefore proves to be a success from a mechanical point of view. From a stylistic point of view, the profile of the original one has been maintained, above all updating the front and leaving the typical rectangular taillights and the very squared style very similar.
