SANOBUS SB 200 1.4

Sanos, the pride of Yugoslav bus industry

  1. acerimmer89
NOTE: This is final version of SANOBUS SB 200, BeamNG universe clone inspired by Yugoslav bus called Sanos S 200, which was in fact diesel-powered Czechoslovak Škoda bus. Similar Škoda models were used in then existing Czechoslovakia as communal trolleybuses.. Sanos was powered by powerful 5.7 L Mercedes-inliner 6 engine, and were common in Yugoslavia in the 1970s and the 1980s in mostly red-and-white livery. Some were occassionally seen in the Croatia until the late 1990s (I've remembered them as a kid) but after 2000 they vanished.
NOTE #2: This is my first attempt to make a bus. Also this is I think first bus from former Yugoslavia in the Automation & BeamNG universe. The bus has Jugotrans livery, because I was parodying the 1980s fad in which every firm had Jugo or Yugo prefix. Actually, I was astonished that "Jugotrans" really exists, but this ingame firm name is pure coincidence. : )
    Fixes:
    • BeamNG camera added (1.00)
    • Weird scratch bugs fixed (1.25)
    • The passenger seats are leveled (1.30)
    • The top speed is limited to 122 km/h...it's slow as real bus so it can't be reached quickly (1.20)
    • Added functional interior lights (1.15)
    • The colours are more shiny than in previous versions (1.40)
    THE STORY:
SANOBUS (Sanos in reality) was bus & coachwork producer located in SR Macedonia, then part of the SFR Yugoslavia, which produced various kind of buses for public transport until the privatization affair from the late 1990s. The HQ was based in Macedonian capital Skopje, and in the 1980s it was big state-owned corporation known as the "giant", with tens of thousands of employees.
SANOBUS SB 200 was interim solution for replacing the aging bus stocks. It was built on AZMB Boleslava T-class chassis and influenced by West German NAM (MAN) designs of the 1970s. It was diesel powered bus for intercity relations. Also there was produced longer, 6x6 version called the "Accordion" for city relations. Most versions were fitted with Gassler OM 352/447 5.7 L inliner-6 with 167 bhp power. The bus was produced from mid 1970s up to the mid 1980s, when it was replaced by more modern, German inspired designs.
SANOS S200, the less-known but popular bus from Yugoslavia. Dedicated to all folks from Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia, Bosnia, Macedonia and Montenegro and all my friends worldwide. :)
