Sierra Nevada Mountain Rescue Skins 1.0

Sierra Nevada Mountain Rescue is a fictional search and rescue team accredited by the Mountain Rescue Association equipped for searching throughout California. As a California OES Type 1 search and rescue resource, SNMRT can perform technical rescues as well as hasty and ground searches. This team, like many search and rescue teams, is made up of volunteers with limited funding. The vehicles used for this team are combination of several different search and rescue team vehicles. The logo is a recreation of a previous Altadena Mountain Rescue Team design. While most of the searching done by mountain rescue teams is done on foot, these teams require specialized vehicles to reach rugged trailheads in hazardous weather, and can complete hasty searches along roads or 4x4 trails in these vehicles.

The Sierra Nevada Mountain Range is one of the most spectacular ranges in the United States, and it draws many visitors of varying skill levels and outdoor preparedness. The extensive mountain range is remote and brutal, and spans across many of California’s counties. Search & Rescue operations in the Sierra Nevada are often the results of several teams pooling resources, therefore, the Sierra Nevada Mountain Rescue Team would likely be just one of many teams capable of responding to backcountry searches and emergencies in the mountains.
