Map Project Thread
This map is a modified version of Small Island USA featuring several courses with the purpose of drifting. They can obviously be used for racing as well. Most of the tracks are fictional with the exception of Meihan which is now the main attraction of the map.
There are 5 courses, and one unfinished, hidden course which will be replaced at some point.
Meihan Sportsland C-Course
A real location. A karting style track often used for drifting located east of Osaka, Japan. Created using google maps and reference images.
A Course
This was the first track I did on the map. A touge style track. Prefered direction is counter clockwise. Try to do the wider section with the dashed lines in one single drift trough all the consecutive left hand corners. That's the most fun.
B Course
A small, fictional kart style track inspired by japanese drifting tracks.
This track is also lit up with spot lights in the night time. If your PC can handle it, it'
C Course
This was a course originally designed for high speed entry over the crest (going counter clockwise) but I've added an extra little touge section to it sweeping along the bottom of the mountain.
Old-Course (wet)
Old course are one of the more recent tracks, contrary to what the name suggests. The reason it's called old course was that I wanted to make it a bit rough and patchy. But now It's also wet.
Known bugs and problems
- Untextured ugly light pole on A-course
- Pot holes on the extended route on A-course
- Cloud coverage slider doesn't work
- Some original elements of the map have been deleted such as the port, helipad, tunnel. This is intended.
Many dirt road decals are left in an ugly state. I am constantly working on cleaning it up.
Some trees are floating above the ground.
Some connecting roads are still rough.
