I really hope this mod gets worked on until we get an actual radio (or dvd screen) in every car! For now looks really promising! What would rock is for it to be able to play an actual stream from an internet radio station...

question, where should i put the music if i change the location of my userfolder?
    1. badriverequisite
      Author's Response
If you change the location of your user folder, just put it in the version_folder of that directory. For example if your user folder is in Desktop you would put the music folder in Desktop/[my_user_folder]/[version_folder] (version_folder is 0.22 as of writing this). Thanks for the rating!

Great concept. Executed very well! Now all ya gotta do is implement an actual radio broadcast with switchable channels! And perhaps a display on the dash, like the "Beam Navigator," except it's an info-tainment screen! (kidding, this would take a lot of work with things I don't even know the name of. But maybe if some other folks with a variety of knowledge got involved it could come to fruition!) sorry.... I'm an enormous car audio geek;... Sweet mod, smooth as butter and def brings some ambience to the game!!!

I was going to complain because there wasn't an option to lower the music volume, until I've realized you can control it within the game settings. Amazing! So well integrated.

    How to enjoy this mod:
    -Download the Vice City soundtrack
    -Download the Vice City map
-Set the ingame time to afternoon
-Start cruising your gray ETK I-Series with Crockett's Theme in the stereo.

I cannot wait to see where this mod goes. Good on you for taking this challenge on as I am sure it is not easy! I look forward to the future and I hope you can figure out the muffled interior/exterior problem. If that is fixed in an update it will be amazing! Thanks for doing this.

Love the mod! Works pretty good, I just have a feature request. Have you considered adding an option to have the sound appear muffled or inaudible when you are outside the car but being able to hear it when inside?
    1. badriverequisite
      Author's Response
Thank you! Yes, I have actually thought about doing that but I first have to figure out how to get past the known issue of the music in the interior being quiet and muffled.

What the hell is a "" key?!
    1. badriverequisite
      Author's Response
It's the "Apostrophe" key, it was just typed as "'" which is easy to confuse with "". I will update the description to say "Apostrophe" key instead.

The idea is good, but I have a problem. The mod does not find the music folder, but this folder is there and there is music. What to do?
    1. badriverequisite
      Author's Response
May I ask what directory you created your music folder in? DM me.

ok so finally got it working, i download from this site and dropped in mod folder but couldn't get it to work, so i went in game to the mods section, clicked the stereo mod and clicked unpack and now it works.
so you have to unpack it no matter how you download it
    1. badriverequisite
      Author's Response
I just tested it out by attempting to download it from the website and putting it in the mod's folder and it didn't work. You are right, it has to be unpacked regardless. For some reason I do not have to unpack it when using the original copy of the mod from my development process. I will update the install instructions to reflect that it must be unpacked regardless. Thanks for the rating!

This seems like a sick mod, but I'm having the same issue @H2O_Funkie is having. There are no keybinds that show up to control any of the stereo settings. I tried looking in vehicle-specific settings, but nothing was there related to the stereo. I'm stuck too.
    1. badriverequisite
      Author's Response
@H20_Funkie as well, I think I know what is going on. When subscribing to the mod in game you have to unpack the mod. I didn't know this when writing the mod use instructions. I will update the install instructions to accommodate users installing this mod directly from within the game. Please feel free to DM me if you guys are still having trouble. Thanks for the rating!

It seems neat but the music won't play. I followed the instructions but when I try to hit my apostrophe key to play music it won't work and there aren't any binds in the settings for the stereo controls. I don't know what to do.
    1. badriverequisite
      Author's Response
All the bindings are under the ‘Vehicle Specific’ section of the controls section. Under that section can be found the ‘Toggle Stereo System’ action which can be bound to whatever key you want. As far as using the apostrophe key goes, just hold it down for a second or more and the system will turn on. Hopefully this helps.

Great mod but does it support xspf and m3u files
    1. badriverequisite
      Author's Response
Unfortunately it does not. It could be added to a future update but I’d have to see if the game engine supports those audio file types. Thanks for the rating!

I like this idea, but there are a few things. I followed the instructions but I don't see the bindings. Does it work on BeamNG 0.22.0? Does it work when I move the userfolder to the old location? Please tell me. Thanks.
    1. badriverequisite
      Author's Response
Yes, originally this was developed to work with the older version of the game that used Documents/BeamNG.drive user folder (the version before the last two updates) so if you are working with an older version of the game then you can just apply the directions to that directory instead. Thanks for the rating! Feel free to DM me if you're still having issues.

This version can’t. However, if deemed feasible, it might be done in a future update. Thanks for the rating!
