With this mod you can. I have taken care of all the 11 American cars as of late 2022 (plus some more as the updates come out), and gave them EUDM spec configs complete with bumpers which can host 52x11 EU format plates front and rear, amber turning lights, additional side turning lights where necessary, white running lights and made turning signals act separately from low/highbeams and stop lights. You now also have a "Italy 1999" option in the plate design selector with accurate current day plate style, complete with a 36x11 front plate (the Italian standard dimensions for front plates, don't ask why, please) option for the front bumpers (will be added to the remaining cars in future updates). Older plate styles will be added in the future, too.
But how will you respect those ridiculous Italian speed limits with imperial units gauges? All the gauges have been remade to feature metric units, while staying as close as possible to dev-quality. Yes it was a tedious job to do.
Aaaaand we're not done yet. I have included what I'm considering releasing as a separate mod based on how well it's received. How do you like these interiors that light up when you turn on the headlights? Here are just a few examples, as they have been made for every car included in the mod. They'll become vanilla at some point anyway, I guess.
Expect for future updates the same treatment for the remaining Japanese cars. I don't know how long it'll take but they'll come at some point. I hope you can enjoy this mod on the Italy map as much as I do, it is made out of lots of little stuff but trust me, it's heaps of that and took plenty of time to get it to the quality standard I wanted for release, so if you come across bugs, issues or things that are not up to standard let me know and I'll roll out a patch. KNOWN BUGS:
0.28 has nuked many mods, this makes no exception with missing steering wheels, for example. I am working on fixing everything, the mod has not been abandoned. I have not published bugfixes yet because I have been busy both with 1.5 new content (Hirochi and ETK future update) and with actual real life
I am now focusing on bugfixes, the patch will definitely drop before the end of April. Meanwhile, sorry to all of those that have shown incredible support for such a niche mod for leaving you with a broken one for a few weeks.

It is a known issue, but has nothing to do with the mod. It's the vanilla game that does it, you can try yourself by selecting the vanilla door mirrors
