UK & Overseas License Plate Pack V1.4

License plates from the UK, Northern Ireland, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Jersey, and the Isle of Man

This mod requires the European License Plate Compilation by JorgePinto to be installed to function correctly:

This mod adds license plates from the UK, Northern Ireland, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Jersey, and the Isle of Man straight into your BeamNG license plates selection. The plates featured in this mod are based on real life examples, and I've tried to recreate them as true-to-life as possible.
Future updates are planned, which will add more styles of plates.

    Some features I've included are:
    • Fully generate-able plates
    • Small details such as the BS AU identifiers and, where applicable, plate issuer address have been included
    • Current standards have been implemented (for example, the new distinguishing code "UK" in the Euroband)
    • Individual CYM, SCO, and ENG country plates
    • Both default EU and US sizes can be used for all plates
    • Custom fontplate
The plates will appear in the selection menu as
    Gibraltar Licence Plate (2021-Present)
    Gibraltar Licence Plate (EU Stars)
    Gibraltar Licence Plate (Temporary)
    Guernsey Licence Plate
    Guernsey Licence Plate (Black)
Guernsey Licence Plate (Black, Alternate Font)
    Isle of Man Licence Plate
    Jersey Licence Plate
    Jersey Licence Plate (Hire)
    UK Licence Plate (2021-Present)
UK Licence Plate (2021-Present, EB (no Blue))
    UK Licence Plate (Armed Forces)
    UK Licence Plate (Cymru)
    UK Licence Plate (Diplomatic)
    UK Licence Plate (England)
UK Licence Plate (EV, UK EB)
    UK Licence Plate (Northern Ireland)
UK Licence Plate (Northern Ireland IRL Euroband)
UK Licence Plate (Northern Ireland Metro)*
UK Licence Plate (Northern Ireland NI Euroband)
    UK Licence Plate (Scotland)
    UK Licence Plate (Temporary)
    UK Licence Plate (Trade)
    **
    UK Licence Plate (Trailer)

    * While technically illegal, this style of plate has been used quite a bit in Northern Ireland, and I thought it would be a bit of fun to add to the pack. Eurostile, a similar font, has been used for this as the official “metro” font doesn’t seem to be available.

** In real life, the Trade plates are a slightly different size, and the placement in-game is technically illegal as it’s supposed to be displayed alongside the licence plate (usually in the front and rear windows), however I thought it would be a bit of fun to add anyway

All plates apart from the Black Guernsey, Armed Forces and Trade ones will need the "Rear Yellow EU License Plate" (from the European License Plate Compilation mod) enabling in the rear license plate vehicle config for the correct colours to appear

In case you’re not already familiar with the format of UK plates and if you’d like to learn how to format one correctly, inside the spoilers below are a brief overview for each plate:

Current UK plates from 2001 follow the format AANN LLL. AA is the area code of registry (e.g YK for Leeds, Yorkshire). NN is the age identifier - for February to August, this is the last 2 digits of the current year (e.g 22 for 2022), and for September to January, this is the current year also, however, you + 50 (e.g 68 for 2018). LLL are 3 completely random letters (excluding I and Q).

    Example: YK22 XGE

The generator has been set up so you automatically get valid area codes when you randomly generate a plate (give or take the odd few invalid 2nd-letter combinations for certain areas), but for a full comprehensive list of area codes, see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehicle_registration_plates_of_the_United_Kingdom#Local_memory_tags

Northern Ireland plates are in the format LAA NNNN. L is a random serial letter, AA is the area code of registry (e.g. FZ for Belfast) and NNNN are 4 random digits.

    Example: RFZ 4417

The generator has been set up so you automatically get valid area codes when you randomly generate a plate, but for a full comprehensive list of area codes, see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vehic...rn_Ireland#County_codes_in_alphabetical_order

Current Gibraltar plates are in the format G NNNN L. G indicates that this is a Gibraltar plate, NNNN are 4 random digits, and L is a serial letter.

    Example: G 1398 F

Guernsey plates are in the format NNNNN. It consists of only 1-5 sequenced digits.

    Example: 36172

Jersey plates are in the format JNNNNNN. J indicates that this is a Jersey plate, and NNNNNN are 1-6 sequenced digits.

    Example: J34698

Current Isle of Man plates from 1987 are in the format XMN-NNN-Y. X is the first serial letter (excluding A, I, Q, S, and Z). MN indicates that this is an Isle of Man plate. NNN are 1-3 random digits. Y is the second serial letter (excluding I, O, Q, S, and Z). Hyphens separate each part of the plate.

    Example: LMN-463-X

Current Trade plates from 2015 are in the format NNNNN. It consists of only 5 sequenced digits.

    Example: 23017

Current Armed Forces plates are in the format LL NN LL. All of the LL parts are random letters. LL are 2 random digits.

    Example: DN 44 XR

Diplomatic plates are in the format EEE D NNN. EEE is the 3 digit country embassy code. D indicates that this is a diplomatic plate (this can sometimes be an X depending on the use case). NNN are 3 sequenced digits between 101 and 999 - 101-399 are for diplomats, 400-699 are for non-diplomatic staff of international organisations, and 700-999 are for consular, or other non-diplomatic staff.

    Example: 152 D 108

For a full comprehensive list of embassy codes, see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_...ritish_diplomatic_vehicle_registration_plates

Trailer plates are in the format LNNNNNNN. L is a serial letter. NNNNNNN are 7 random digits.

    Example: C4766085

Temporary plates follow the format NNN Q YY. NNN is a sequence number starting at 101. Q indicates that this is a temporary plate. YY is the current year of registration - this follows the same rules as the regular plates, with plates registered in the second half of the year having 50 added onto the number.

    Example: 548 Q 71

    Please note:
    • This mod was made to complement the UK plates in the European License Plates Compilation by JorgePinto (https://www.beamng.com/resources/european-license-plates-compilation-cherrier-rhd.6952/). You'll require this in order for the plates that have different coloured rears to show up correctly
    • While I have only set out generation layouts for the current formats, previous formats can be entered too. Please bear in mind however that the US size plates may not have as much of a “tidy” appearance depending on the format - I’m looking into ways I could remedy this without having to make separate plates for each format.
