With the success of the Monica ELDY in Japan, Arima started considering bringing in an export version for the United States. After some slight modifications, the major one being the conversion to LHD, the Monica was renamed the Ardeo for better understanding for American buyers. With all those changes came the trim levels going from the basic "XL" model, all the way up to the "XLS" model. It competed directly with Ibishu's Pessima and the Daewon DS6 and was intended to be a more upscale and comfortable option. Sadly, when the Monica ELDY was discontinued in Japan in 1998, the American model also got the axe.

Several months after the Ardeo hit dealership lots in the United States, Arima decided to bring the sportier cousin known as the Celina EXiA to American shores after many requests from potential buyers. Like the Monica ELDY, it was also modified for the United States market and its name was changed to the Cyriva. Touted as a more sportier and cheaper option, it was intended to compete with the 200BX from Ibishu, and the DS7 from Daewon. the Cyriva was a great seller with many people praising it for its driving characteristics and tuning potential. Just like the Monica ELDY, it was also discontinued for both Japan and the United States in 1998.

Both had a special package sold to police departments across the United States. Its most famous were both on the country's West and East Coast, with both Belasco and Firwood's police departments buying 25 cars each for their detective work. After departments retired their units after several years of service, these units were all auctioned off and some landed in the hands of gearheads and suffered different fates afterward.

After the introduction of both the Ardeo and Cyriva models in the United States, Arima wanted to bring in a smaller, but just as stylish and sporty sedan to the market. As sales were rising for the newly introduced Caelo and Gaia models, Arima decided that they would bring these two smaller models into the United States. Meanwhile, American manufacturer Gavril was looking to add a cheaper, and more budget-friendly car into their product lineup, and ended up partnering with Arima to both rebadge and rename the Gaia into the Gavril Cambria. The Cambria was targeted to both new and budget-conscious buyers who were looking to get a reliable vehicle without breaking the bank. Two trim levels were brought over with modest prices to bring wider appeal to the Gavril brand.

With the Cambria gaining sales in the United States, Gavril decided to put their RoadSport ethos into their rebadged Gaia. Thus came the Cambria RoadSport. Joining both the Grand Marshal, the Roamer, and the D-Series, the Cambria was positioned as the entry-level model in Gavril's performance lineup, appealing to a younger audience thanks to its price. Like the standard Cambria, the RoadSport would be killed off in 1998 with a total sales figure of 15,000 units.

As for the Caelo, it would be renamed the Kalima, but would still be sold under the Arima brand. The Karima's more sporty and expensive offerings targeted car buyers with low and high incomes who were looking for a car just as sporty, but smaller than both the Ardeo and Cyriva and other similar cars in their class. Unlike the Cambria, which had only two trims available, the Kalima offered four trims including a special La Noir variant, along with various other options like a sunroof and a more premium sound system available. All Kalima's were equipped with a 1.6L I4 engine as standard. Unfortunately though, when Arima discontinued the Caelo and Gaia models in Japan in 1998, the American models also suffered the same fate. In total, 140,000 units of both the Kalima and Cambria combined were sold during its 5 model year run.

Awesome mod!, But I don't get it because the cars they were based off, the Toyota Sprinter/Corolla-based Marino (Gaia/Caelo JDM, Kalima/Cambria badged as Gavril) (USDM), Carina/Corona-based EXiV (Celina EXiA JDM, Cyrivia USDM) and ED (Monica ELDY JDM, Ardeo USDM) were only sold for the JDM (Japanese) Domestic Market, Why USDM versions?, Toyota didn't think of USDM versions of the Ceres, Marino, ED and EXiV, Why??
