I thought it'd be cool to show what our sreet cars are capable of when it comes to acceleration. Here goes mine: Renault Scenic 130hp diesel. 0-100: 0-190: (videos are not mine)
NOT MY VIDEO (I'm not an irresponsible motorist, though I did push my Maxima to the limits of its tires today in the name of research) (skip to 0:30) This car has way more power than it needs, and that makes me happy
Well... I have a little 1.8L Toyota Carina, so it's nothing worth showing. But I often drive my brothers 1998 WRX, which is a little more interesting. Now sure how fast it goes 0-60 but I am guessing it's not too shabby.. (This is actually his car and video) lol.
I can't say I have actually recorded the numbers myself but if I had to hazard a guess, 15-25 seconds. Its a 1 litre engined vauxhall corsa and feels slow to accelerate so probably is slow to accelerate
So, i drive a light truck. according to http://www.zeroto60times.com/GMC-Truck-0-60-mph-Times.html my 0-60 would be 9.5 and a quartermile time of 16.9 (Not my video or truck, also i have a 2001SLS) Mind you when the drivetrain and suspension is at the end of its life, i want to turn it into a drag truck. A sleeper to be specific haha.

I don't have a car as I am unable to drive on the road yet, but my Dad has a Ford Mondeo MK4, it is a 1.8 diesel producing 100Hp, it is really slow but we get it for free... My dad also rides a Honda CBR 600f I'm pretty sure my dad wouldn't mind doing some 0-60 test for me, but I shan't ask, here are the best I could find anyway... Units..
I drive a Twingo GT TCE. ⁽ʸᵉˢ ᵗʰᵃᵗˢ ᵃ ʳᵉᶰᵃᵘᶫᵗ ᵖᶫˢ ᵈᵒᶰᵗ ʰᵘʳᵗ ᵐᵉ⁾ Never tried myself, but according to this video, it'll do it in around 9.3 seconds. That good for a first car?
1990 F250, takes atleast a minute cause the motor is so toast if I got it up past like 2500rpm, floored, it would throw a rod or something. Ticks very loudly after about 2000/2500 rpm. Feels like the timing is off too because at certain RPMs it vibrates, like you hear a piston fire and you can feel it.. Very bizzare. I know it's the motor cause I've checked everything, tires are balanced, u joints are all good, driveshaft is straight, etc. But yeah, it's fucking excruciatingly slow, I drive it like a commercial vehicle cause It's so much cheaper that way (no brakes just rolling slow downs using the engine as a brake) but damn people hate me for it lmao.
My slow civic racing my buddies old kia. Just for funs.. My car is slow so I prey on even slower cars to make it feel better about itself. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfETuyA3C2o&feature=youtube_gdata_player Sorry for the bad camera angles
My Ibiza does it in 11 seconds, even though the factory said it was 13... Same deal with top speed: 160km/h(100mph), even though the factory says 150... Engine isn't modified, of course.
Do you think you just an exceptionally fast model or do you think that they may claim slower times on purpose for insurance reasons? My truck's 0-60 in 1997 was a factory claimed 8.4 seconds. I think its about 9.5 now...
I can't record, but our Jaguar XJ6 1996 is 0-60 in 7.5 secs. It is a great car, don't know why it is only worth 20k AUD.
YESSSS I LOVE MYSELF SOME SWEDISH BRICKS On topic, My camaro, last time it was driven (Mid 90's) Ran 12.7's in the quarter. 120 something mph i believe. Now itll probably run mid 12's. (If i welded the trunk back in, of course.) Calculator is coming up with 4.8 sec 0-60, but that seems waaaay to quick.
I don't know why but I guess someone lost their keys to their volvo in the school parking lot, an. they send out emails for that stuff, and I couldn't stop grinning like a dope for the rest of the day once I saw that lol. I have nithing negative to say about volvos either (I do not dabble in volvology so I have no positives either lol).
From what I've heard, they claim them to be slower to make the Cupra and GTI and Cupra-GTI models seem better and more appealing. Pretty weird regardless. I remember when MCM did their 1jz swap. That Cressida went 0-60 faster than it originally did by 2 or 3 seconds by having a way faster engine with twin-turbos. If it was just my car being exceptionally fast, that would mean it would probably have 20-30hp more than the others. Of course, no 2 cars are 100% the same so you could see a 0.01 sec difference if driven the exact same way, and maybe 0.01 hp more or less, but a huge difference like this is impossible, considering the engine is not hand-made or anything. Also, it's funny how my car is 18 years old and has 217,000 km(over 134,000 miles), yet still does better than the factory figures. Makes you wonder how it was the day it came from the dealership(not saying it's super fast, being a 1.4 with 55hp of course, but yeah). Also, in case anyone is wondering: I did check the speed with a GPS, not the dash cluster which always reads 5-10km/h or so higher on any car.
