It's an electric motor so it must be quiet lol
The tires are louder even if you're directly beside the motor
idk if this will fit well here, but ill post anyways. i was about to post it in vehicle suggestion, but it has to do with engines, and im wondering a few things as well from the dev side of things. so hopefully it fits well here.
with the new bolide update, its now become my absolute fav vehicle, dont get me wrong with what im about to say, i absolutely love every single bit of what you guys have done with this game, its came such a long way and is really gold. i love it to no end.
but, another v8?
honestly, beam needs a different engine layout, other then v8, oh and v8, i almost forgot, beamng has v8's......
oh wait, i literally forgot, i3, i4, i5, i6, v6.
beamng reallly needs a v10, v12, or v16. bigger more luxury performance engines.
i love all the new stuff and effort, but i got more then plenty of the same sounding v8 to go around for a long time now. something different would be lovely.
i say v10 +, but honestly what really stops beamng from making an experimental rotary engine?, or H series? there are so many different engine layout other then V and inline. what is stopping you guys from doing experimental engine types? or weird stuff like that?
the best feedback i got is, its going very well, this game is absolutely amazing and just keeps on getting better.
the variety is NOT something to complain about, its come a long way and there is a lot more variety then before.
which is why im just simply wondering, why always the same engine layout?
also, i dont know if this will ever be possible, but the aerodynamic in this game is.... a bit lacking to say the least... it is there but oh boi.. it acts weird.
will drafting ever be a thing in this game? like in the way nascar has the air draft behind other racers, which helps aero.
i feel like adding a complex aero system is.... maybe too much for what this game already has? yet it would greatly help with high speed racing where draft is a thing, and also good aero helps to keep the car on the ground.
Tbh the bolide's turning circle might be a bit too chonky
This is probably the best content update ever. 1 brand new car, and essentially another brand new car? The quality on both is amazing, and I can't wait to see what y'all have in store for us next.
I really like all the update you guy's did to the game. Exept one thing, I hate the new UI and the french translation is kinda broken (words are out of the place they should by example).
Not only that the translation is broken, I just don't like the UI. I don't know, I don't like it. But wierdly, I like the sound effects of it.
Anyway, the new car is really fun to drive and is really polished.
Another Bolide bug, the targa roof panel tends to twitch after an accident, the stripe skins are also ever so slightly off center
The Bolide also really needs drift additions. It has a lot of potential in other areas, and definitely more steering angle, even in the rally configs steering is almost impossible.
Personally, the 0.24 update was much better than the madness that was 0.23, which I thought was the reason for a longer cycle this time.
In general I like the new UI,but the UI apps need to be fixed(positioning and ability to hide the traffic app) and I still hope to see brand selection in the vehicle selector.
The new missionsystem feels like it would be more at home in career mode than in freeroam mode(But it probably is the demo for career?).
The Bastion is a nice addition, all good IMO.
The Bolide remaster is very nice, finally a car with both EU and US specs available - let it show the way to all other remasters.
The Pessima remaster was incredibly dissappointing, specially when compared to the LeGran remaster.
No new body(a liftback would have fitted really well IMO), no facelift nor a prefacelift, no AWD,no EU spec and it managed to lose some interior detail and became more understeery(?).
In general, the game is starting to feel like a finished product to me, almost all pieces seem to be in place for Career mode(racing AI, tire thermals and some content gap filling left to do) so the game could get into Beta soon, but so far the devs have not shown us a clear path to the final version and nobody knows what else are they going to add.
And that is what I love about BeamNG.drive - It could have been called finished a long time ago, but instead we are getting more and more features for this game instead of leaving all of these features for "BeamNG.drive2".
I mean, when I bought Beam, I was not promised any engine simulation, no traffic, no electric cars or buses or even trucks. All that Beam was supposed to be was a demolition derby game with softbody physics that could be played against AI or in a local overhead camera multiplayer session.
I do have something that is annoying me though - the lack of EU spec vehicles for playing on the Italy map.
There are 3 JDM vehicles, 6 EUDM vehicles and 23 USDM vehicles(If I counted them right).
I mean it makes sense due to having so many US maps, but still...
Only thing that is giving me hope in that regard is the new remastered Bolide.
Strange to see K-series being a USDM where if we think about it K-series can't be USDM nor EDM, because of small things that missing for both markets. I might be wrong because I still don't know how US laws see DRL and amber lights, do DRL count as another white light (since US have/had law that only 4 lights can be white pointing forwards that why they using amber lights)?
Also every single car missing rear fog light (except K-series that have something that looks like a fog light that don't work in game right now) to be a EDM and JDM car. Speaking of JDM, they are missing big white front lights (similar to amber for USDM but... white).
Like I mention before, I don't know very well law in US and Japan so if someone could correct me or explain some things I would appreciate.
American here; I've never heard of any law about only 4 white lights pointing forward. I know it was max 2 headlights through 1957, had to be round sealed-beam through 1975 and sealed-beam in general through I think 1983?, but now as far as I know it's pretty free now, though I will admit I don't pay a lot of attention to headlights during the day.
Thanks. Well, when I asked why Americans are using amber lights for parking lights I usually got two answers: first mentioned before and second because someone decided that amber light is more visible for human eye on greater distances than white light. Looks like first one is a myth.
I'd expand this to more than just engines; I'd love to see more quirky drivetrain/suspension in general. Vemco V-Drives, swing axles, twin I beams, chain drives, the GM twin-six engine, etc...
The game's detailed powertrain simulation makes it perfect for crazy set ups like the Vemco's, and yet we really only have fairly normal set ups in game.
A car with hydropneumatic suspension would be nice.
honestly had only engines in mind when i wrote that, but now that you mention it...
how many solid axle vehicles we got? plenty to go around, i think the autobello is a swing axle but im not 100% sure on that, plz do correct me if im wrong.
but yeah, i almost made the gm v drive a few years ago, i wanted awd vanster and my friend mention that to me, i swear if i was better with shafts n stuff i wouldve made it a reality.
really wanted awd for the pre runner mod before the d series pre runner came official, twin beam with some form of v drive system on it, with each arm having its own diff...
so many weird experimental suspension layout irl that hasnt been tested yet in beamng.
and knowing how this game is, being able to test out these weird drivetrain models would make things a million times more interesting for this game.
im not 100% sure how chain drive would work in beam, but all in all, having a pre 80's/ pre 70's weird asf suspension design in beam would be lit.
yeah sure its alright having an over engineered suspension from germany with so many arms you could make an alien, but what about the sketchy asf stuff of before?
i dont care about having a car that almost drives itself in beamng, not complaining, in its own way this is a win bc of how well it was made, but i find the bastion too easy to drive, but it is a modern vehicle with all new tech stuff to allow better drivability.
honestly, this is just my personal opinion, but what i really love about beamng is just fighting with old cars just to keep it on the road. this is my fun.
but i also saw some people criticizing beamng for the exact same reasons i love it. so its hard to say. its really a mixed bag and in reality you just cannot please everyone.
with all that being said, with time i hope beamng will add more sketchy asf cars to drive. id love it.
I don't think Autobello is swing axle but it behaves kinda close to it
This question was made by OuDacai:
Apparently the Bastion, the Bolide and the Pessima don't have the UV map in the game files…
Just the pessima is missing
