In the newest 0.28.1 update log, specifically under the UI updates section, we can see a screenshot of the new "Possibly Broken Mods" feature. In it, there's the new update itself, the scrollbar, but also a BeamNG.drive/0.29 folder! It also shows a t-series modpack by gtg as an example, possibly confirming the t-series remaster. What do you guys think?
The 0.29 folder isn't suprising since its an internal build, but I'm pretty sure the GTG mod has always overwritten the base t-series files, and would bring back this error message on any version since the addition of the game.
still why would a developer be using mods at all (they are just making vanilla content) also be using 0.29, not like a weird internal version name and out of the thousands of different mods for a lot of different cars its the most known t series mod
thing is that mods break the main game so if they are developing the game mods are a pain to deal with
You think they don't actually play the game they are making? Some devs even make mods that are not official content
nono, i mean that if they are working at that moment, adding mods would make the dev process a mess cuz broken stuff
In theory it should be but practically there are always a few mods that slipped by the approval process and are causing issues with every game update
We often intentionally enable mods during development. It's the best way to test if the mod retrocompatibility measures work correctly (those measures are the reason why each game update only breaks a few dozen mods, rather than the entire repository of mods... it's an explicit, continuous and time-consuming effort, not something we leave to chance). In the case of the Possibly Broken Mods detector, you cannot hope to develop such a feature unless you actually throw a bunch of possibly broken mod at the detector.
