0x3000004: Failed to create user directory

When I launch the game this error pops up. I've tried making a directory manually and pasting in the location of it in startup.ini but I've had no success. Not sure what to do.

 

I have the same issue. this happened after i updated the game to v0.23.0. does anyone have an answer?

 

I worked out how to fix it, not sure if it'll work for you though. I found where my user directory was (C:\Users\Name\Documents\BeamNG.drive) and went to my BeamNG root directory (E:\Steam\steamapps\common\BeamNG.drive). I opened up startup.ini and pasted in the location of my user directory that I mentioned before (UserPath = C:\Users\Name\Documents\BeamNG.drive), I'd tried this before but still got the error. What I did differently though was in the steam launch options I typed -userpath C:\Users\Name\Documents\BeamNG.drive and it launched.

 

none of this works for me ive done everything i can thing of its my favorite game and i cant play it haha

i have uninstalled i and reinstalled it then moved it to a different ssd and still doent work

 

Same for me. The user path thing fixed my issue, but now I can't access the pre game launcher to access safe mode, change directory, verify files, etc. Big mistake changing the directory BeamNG....
