You are so getting banned. :\ I've been waiting for a VW Beetle/Type 1 in BeamNG for quite a while now. And what better way to enjoy one than with good ol' Herbie?
You are so getting beaned :| On topic: Yes! I've been waiting for a VW Type 1 in BeamNG! (hence my profile pic, but mine is 1973 though )
He is talking about jbeam. Jbeam is how the car deforms, performs, ect. You can see the skeleton by pressing CTRL and B.
Everyone chill out and let the moderators do the job of deciding what's right and wrong for the forum. Report posts that you don't like and move on. You're just creating more work for them, and they don't like it. Ahem, anyway, if this mod is 100% original, this will be a wonderful addition to the game's assortment of available mods. I will have to try it later, but it looks good Can you bring up the JBeam debug visualizer and show us a picture of the JBeam in game?
Right now a big thing that takes away from the overall quality is the lack of accurate deformation. The first video alone shows that this is way stronger than it should be, you should consider asking someone for help with JBeam and optimization because that's probably the biggest thing that needs improvement right now.
@Driv3r1142 the model is done by me. However the jbeam files are based on a ingame car, as I've never done a beamNG mod before haha.
The Jbeam has been edited, though. Apparently you have done Jbeam a mod. It still doesn't deform correctly, though. As opkraut said, it's too strong. There are also weird spikes. Not to mention that the radiator overheats ridiculously fast.
@Driv3r1142 @opkraut Deformation feels ok, and could be sure better. The video doesn't even show any deformation anyways? You guys have kinda hard needs. I made the model mainly for animation, and just imported it to beamNG cause why not do it? So its pretty obvious that the jbeam file needs a lot of tweaking. If some of you guys are willing to help me out for that, that would be perfect, as I don't have the time for that
What I meant was when it drives off the cliff in the video and doesn't take any damage. That's extremely unrealistic and is a good indicator that the deformation needs work
According to these posts, it will come. That's not how I saw it. It looked to me like he expertly drove it down without crashing it. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to do that, and if I did get it down, it'd be all mangled up.
