Mazda Cosmo Sport L10B It's a bird! It's a plane! No its SUPERCAR!!! BACKGROUND INFORMATION;The Mazda Cosmo Sport is a 2-seater Grand Touring Sports car that was manufactured by the Japanese auto manufacturer Mazda from 1967 to 1972. This was Mazda's first performance oriented car, and sent them on the path towards the performance legend they are today. The Cosmo was first introduced at the 1964 Tokyo Motor Show, and the production version launched in 1967. Partway through 1968, it was face-lifted, adding an extra few inches to its wheelbase, enlarging the grille for better airflow to the radiator, air conditioning (Though this mod won't have it,) and a more powerful version of the 10A engine. This hand built car's production ran until 1972, with just under 1200 units made overall. Everything about the vehicle was designed by Mazda from the ground up, around the Wankel engine. The design goal was to best use every ounce of the quite impressive, but relatively weak power output of the small Wankel engine, which required the car in question to be light and compact, have a low center of gravity, and have an innovative suspension and drivetrain solution. The bodywork, and frame, were put together all as one piece... Asides from the lower valance panel for access to the radiator and front sway bar, the hood, the trunk, the bumpers, and the doors. Overall the car only weighed around 1000kgs, or a little over 2200 lbs for us Americans, quite impressive for the 1960s when most sports cars at the time weighed nearly twice that amount, European, Japanese, and American cars included... This car by 1968 could be equipped with air conditioning, and had a full luxurious interior with plenty of arm and leg room. DOWNLOAD PLEASE DO NOT REUPLOAD @Crash Hard 01 My mod in particular focuses on the the L10B version of the Cosmo. I don't plan on making an L10A at this time due to the need to redo pretty much the entire car to make it properly. I created a 100% custom JBeam for this car, featuring a hand built double wishbone independent front suspension, and a DeDion tube dependent rear suspension. No part is directly taken from any other vehicle without first being significantly edited or transformed; Almost all of the JBeam work is 100% custom. The vehicle features a 10A engine, which IRL generates around 110HP and 96 ft-lbs of torque (BeamNG has it at 126 HP and 103 ft-lbs of torque using data from real torque curves.) This mod also features its own custom wheels that have been integrated into the globalWheels system. These wheels can be installed on any car that supports 4 lug wheels, and most 4 lug wheels are compatible with this mod (With a few notable exceptions I will discuss in a future post.) I have contacted mike94 regarding his engine; The overall vehicle model has some flaws here and there, however I'm satisfied with it... it does the job, and looks halfway decent. I'm open to hearing constructive criticism/better ways to do things. Some parts spike badly due to over simplified JBeam structures or poor poly flow Some things aren't 100% JBeamed such as the seats and fuel tank NOTE; THIS MOD WILL CONFLICT WITH ANY MOD WHICH HAS A FILE PATH NAMED "jbeam_tester" If the mod fails to work because of this, please let me know. I would rather not have to change the file path but I will if I absolutely have to. REQUESTS; If anyone knows what sorts of options these cars had, including colors, please post below. I'm looking to add some stuff to this car that most people haven't seen before, that were options. I would also appreciate some better engine sounds. I'm currently using placeholder Wankel engine sounds, however they kinda sound funny, and don't sound like a 10A. Please make sure your feedback is constructive and useful.
