This will be my first attempt ever making a mod, so I know I don't know what I am doing. I want to make a mod for BeamNG.drive that would be like the 1982 Chevy Citation. I came up with the name because that-era's Sentra looks like the Citation. This is what it should look like. I like 80's cars, so I would love to bring the BeamNG.drive community something like this. Red- Not started Yellow- Partly Green- Finished Pink- Other Purple- Idea 3D Model- I am doing a tutorial on how to 3d model JBEAM ANYTHING ELSE CONFIGS
I hate to pop your bubble, but mōd progress is needed before you can post here, so, do you have any progress pictures?
I'll put in on hold until I get something. --- Post updated --- I want to keep the post up, so at least some people will comment on it...
To help you with the programs, your going to want to get Blender and learn to use that, it will take a long time --- Post updated --- You'll also want to read some wiki stuff, like this https://wiki.beamng.com/Vehicle_Creation_Megapage --- Post updated --- This too https://wiki.beamng.com/JBeam_Introduction --- Post updated --- For when you mess up https://wiki.beamng.com/Vehicle_Modding_Common_Problems --- Post updated --- Vehicle stats stuff https://wiki.beamng.com/Lua:Reference
Sounds https://wiki.beamng.com/Sound --- Post updated --- And skins https://wiki.beamng.com/Skin_Creation_Megapage --- Post updated --- Hope you like reading my dude, by the end of it you'll be a beamNg God, and then you can start this --- Post updated --- No problem my dude, and if you need anything else, check out some of the stuff in the wiki
Also, for modelling Blender: https://store.steampowered.com/app/365670/Blender/ It's free, but it will take trial and error to get used to.
I love the idea, but I don't really have any hope due to no progress. I would love to have a little 80s econobox in beamng though. I hope you figure out how to at least model Good Luck!
I'm hoping that I will! --- Post updated --- Right now, I am learning how to 3D model, so we are making progress. There might be some major bumps on the JBeam though, that is the only part that worries me.
Thanks! --- Post updated --- I've hit a major bump in modelling. I can't find any Chevy Citation blueprints, so I need suggestions.
Make it a cheaper version of the Bruckell LeGran, with or without a liftback variant. Problem solved. Start by modifying an existing vehicle - once you have the hang of that, then make your own. (Make sure you learn how to normal-map your panel gaps so they look like the stock vehicles!!!)
Just for the future; people generally don't like people posting "mods" without any progress made to it at all. Since the majority of these, will just end up getting nowhere and it fills up the forum section. Not a modder, but just an idea: Maybe start off with something a little more simple if it's your first mod. Maybe a traffic cone with Jbeam structure to it, a box or something like that. Could imagine a car is a big project for a first attempt But good luck with it! Would love some more 80's cars for BeamNG.
