CURRENT As of 6/7/2022 Spoiler: Update post 5/15/2022 wooo new paint texture that won't make its way into the game anyways I'm continuing to refine the model further, with the addition of new parts such as headlight details and mirrors. Also we're red now! Additionally, there are some changes to the chassis (which I had to completely re-model from scratch due to issues with normals and generally poor meshflow—as a result of the new paint model I've chosen to use, I had to make the chassis a black plastic to better showcase how it really looks), along with a more detailed interior. Spoiler: Update post 5/13/2022 wooo new renders Besides the lighting and environment you might be asking "what's new?" ...But wait, there's more! I began to model the chassis and interior bits today—it's all a bit rudimentary but we're getting there! I'm primarily using the Porsche 993, Acura NSX, and other early 90s sports cars as a reference for how the chassis should be laid out, whilst the interior is designed to be a reverse-engineered version of the modern SBR. Spoiler: Update post 5/12/2022 Didn't want to update anything until I had some progress, so here's a minor update. Basically thought long and hard about what I wanted the SBR to look like—my inspirations from the era include the Porsche 911, Alpine A610, Subaru SVX, and Toyota Supra, among others. The overall length of the car hasn't changed drastically. It's slightly shorter, less tall, and less wide, standing shorter than the current SBR and the Porsche 993 at 4.23m. A 2.54m wheelbase places it just under the 2+2 version of the Nissan 300ZX, while the 1.31m height makes it just as tall as a Toyota Celica. Wheel and tire size have both gone up and are the primary reasons why the car looks smaller than it is; the front fascia has gained details along with some revisions to lower and square off the headlights and move the A-pillar forwards, which all should help make it look era-accurate. The rear end has also been massaged with a more tapered, Audi Quattro-like appearance. Spoiler: Original post 5/11/2022 I'm unskilled when it comes to modding anything, so hopefully I can get some help here... I'm making an attempt at a 1993 Hirochi SBR4 based on an old design I created 3 years ago, along with a shot of new 3D modelling skills that I've been picking up over the past few months. Any help would be appreciated!
