So, I wanted to share a little bit about my truck, and how I came to be the owner of it.

It literally started a month after I got my license, I had a 1996 Dodge Dakota regular cab, it was red, I loved that truck a lot, until it nearly killed me one day. I was driving home from visiting family in a city about 45 mins away, halfway home, the transmission decided it hated life, and seized up entirely. It could have gone worse, if it happened 10 seconds later, I would have met my end in the front of a motor-home. Not a small one either. Well, when the trans seized, the back wheels stopped turning too, which caused the rear end to go out and me to lose control. Went into the ditch, and carefully touched a fence post.

Fast forward a week later, I was scrolling through FB marketplace looking for anything that caught my eye when I seen a trade offer for a 2004 GMC "savanna" lol (i guess it was a miss click or something) but it had piqued my interest, so I contacted the seller with an offer. A small Baja DR 49 minibike, and $700 cash later, I end up with a half running half brain dead Sierra 2500HD. Well, I get it home, the front tires were shot, the rear were brand new. (I later sold the brand new rear tires for like, $200). I robbed some 16s from a car out back, they didnt fit the truck at all, but they got me through the winter, sort of. The half brain dead issue stopped when i cleared the DTCs on the engine, and plugged an injector back in. The truck ran amazingly through 2018 winter. Over the course of this year, I have been slowly working on my truck, getting it running again. Recently I put a new transfercase in, the original had like 380,000 kilometers on it, and was trash, I also put in spark plugs, and changed the oil. Surprisingly the truck still had the most basic stock stereo ever, which is actually sitting in a box in my room, which i replaced with a 7" touch screen w/ nav and upgraded the speakers. I have plans for a custom built center console, but thats about it for the interior. The original 8' box was basically scrap metal. There was a hole cut above the fuel pump, the tailgate hinges were gone, and the tailgate didnt exist, and many, MANY holes in the front of the box, and the passenger side. Me and my dad took the box off, inspected the near mint frame, and put an 8' deck in place of the box, which in my opinion suits the truck better. If I had recent pics of my truck on my PC, id definitely post them. But I shall post pics of the truck when I got it.

The engine in it is a Chevy 364 6.0l LQ4, with over 14k hours, and it runs strong. All like, 250ish horsepower is there lol

Once all is said and done, the truck's interior will not look factory ever again lol

No it doesn't have power anything. Its all manual, except for the 4 speed automatic, WITHOUT overdrive, transmission. I have the original window sticker that says it was supposed to have a 5speed manual lol

The stock unpainted, plastic, broken, disgusting grille, was replaced by a pick 'n' pull special, 19 year old owned, black spray painted, chrome grille. I scraped the paint off and it made the truck look 100x better.

Nice looking truck, thanks for sharing. I almost bought one exactly like that before I got my 99 K2500. 75,000 original miles, and no rust, but it was 2 wheel drive, and I needed 4WD for plowing snow.
