3D modeling software?

    I recently decided I wanted to attempt making or modifying a vehicle in Drive, and I just want to know what program do you guys recommend that will get the job done for someone like me, as long as it's free of course as I have no money as of late.
    Oh and it would be helpful if it's a little user friendly
