800 Series Equivalent?

What is the 800 supposed to be? A 3-series or 5-series?

It's closer in size to a 3 series wagon than a 5 series

 

Okay then, so a V12 doesn't logically make sense

 

nor does it have a V12. It has i4 and i6 engines in petrol and diesel. V12 is a mod.

 

Yeah I know, I was just thinking about if it was logical or not. It is a good swap but not stock

From the size and proportions of the 800, I would say it's closest to a 3-series; a sports-luxury-economy-identity-crisis car for people with plenty of money to spare and just the right ammount of insecurity to go with it.
