Hey all! This is the thread about my first independent and big mod, the Gavril Durham. It is strongly influenced by the GMT530 Chevy Kodiak and the GMC TopKick. I've been working on it for about 2 months now and decided that I should open a thread about it, so anyone who is interested can be directed here to see how it's doing, what is happening and ask any questions if they wish. Lore: The second gen Durham is a medium duty truck unveiled shortly after the all refreshed D-series. It uses the same cab and some of the engines, but having a unique 8.5L V10 along with outsourced medium duty diesel engines. In 1993 it got a facelift along with the D-series, introducing the new sloped hood, which proved to be a major success and all later models would adopt it. Dubbed the C-series internally, the Durham is a capable truck that can do a lot while keeping your wallet intact. In 2000, the Durham received a redesign. While still keeping the cab derived from the D-series, it now offers an all new aluminum block V8 replacing the old V10, an all new interior and exterior and new drivetrain options. Enough talk, let's let the images speak! Credit to @Top Tier Studios for some of the box truck skins Some things I'd like to mention, or a Q&A: "yoU cOpIeD dArT/Ar162B/whomever!" No. I did not copy anybody else trying to make a "D55". This is my take at a medium duty truck from Gavril, inspired by the Chevy Kodiak. Not a D55, it's a Durham. Q: Will it be paid? A: The main mod, not. There will be paid extras such as other generations, scratch made sound recordings and more upfits. Being honest, the revenue factor is too large for me to ignore because I am struggling a lot financially. Anyone who just wants a truck can download the main mod, anyone who wants to support me and get a mod worth your money can buy the addon(s) Q: Can I download it? A: Yep. Q: Will you make X upfit / Y feature? A: No and no. Please don't suggest things such as this because plenty of it is already done behind the scenes. Q: When relez? A: It's out! Media: (Thanks to anyone who makes a video on the Durham!) Video by @Shadows : Video by Camodo Gaming: Video by BeamBot: PLEASE READ BEFORE SUGGESTING UPFITS/FEATURES! I will be ignoring all upfit suggestions until the release of the vehicle, so please don't ask about it, I probably already have it planned. And after that, I will only take into account those I haven't seen/considered which should be minimal. Thanks Also, if you do want to support me, please do so here! I'd hugely, hugely appreciate it because my country has very bad currency, any bit helps. Dunno what else to list here since this is just about all the mod currently has. Expect this thread to be modified as progress is made. Thanks for reading! I've also uploaded what would have gone in the paid addon here for free; it's not much but it consists of a custom V8 diesel engine sound, the utility bed, a very WIP oilfield bed and a decking saddle.
"Q: Will it be paid? A: Most likely not. I may make a patreon or such for early access, but otherwise, I have no plans to make the base mod paid. There may be paid extras such as dedicated engine sound recordings, but I've yet to decide on anything like that. Q: Can I download it? A: Not yet." RenAzuma66, 19 minutes ago. I don't want to be mean, but read the posts before replying to them.
This looks very high quality. Cant wait to have this in game, can already tell its gunna be one of my favorite mods.
Is this even a d series or just a semi truck that loosely looks like one. reminds me of the really big ford f series that were basicallly just semi trucks
The cab is a D-series cab, but the larger frames (C65, C75, C85) are basically on semi frames with semi axles
Insanely impressive!! well done.. Take your time and release it when your ready it's really nicely done from what pics you've shown.
Finally, not another D55 mod. The D55s always had a braking problem and they'd turn weird. Plus, they never had anything custom except for a hood and just a t-series frame. Glad to see one that actually has work being put into it.
Epic, lots of custom parts already, you can see it's not trying to be a simple D55 mod now. Could you make doors with low handles reachable from the ground level like the T-Series has?
