The Grand Marshal is not boaty enough for me, so I tuned the suspension to be extra nautical; initially for my own amusement, but I've come to quite like the result, and now I'm wondering if others might be interested in this sort of thing. I'm sitting on a fairly comprehensive pile of 1990s land yacht configs, and depending on the feedback this little teaser pack gets, I might clean the rest of them up for a proper public release. The suspension works well for sedate driving; there's (barely) enough damping to not immediately lose control over severe bumps or in evasive manoeuvres, but don't expect these setups to be, shall we say, conventionally enjoyable when driven hard... The scope of this experiment has mainly been suspension tuning. I've created no new parts of my own, and the configs rely on 3 dependencies: Aero Grand Marshal Facelift by @kalico for stability control, front bench seats, and various other niceties Gavril Grand Marshal Wagon by @RyanCookie for the highly adjustable springs Projekt Drive by @KennyWah for the highly configurable shock absorbers If needed, I could rework the configs to not use any Aero parts, but the other 2 dependencies are going to be unavoidable no matter what. I've already had to remove a few parts to reduce the number of dependencies to something reasonable; I'm mildly curious if there's any interest in another version of this with an unreasonable number of dependencies for relatively minor feature additions. I should also mention that I don't have a steering wheel, so I've no idea how the steering 'feels' since all my own testing is done with an Xbox gamepad and assisted steering. I am particularly interested in feedback on the towing config, because the long rear overhang cantilevers the nose into the air, leaving only about a third of the vehicle weight on the front axle. This also affects lateral stability, which is why I include a custom trailer config with a high-density load concentrated near the axle group to reduce the yaw moment of inertia. This little alpha/teaser includes the following configurations: JL4 I6 (A) 6-cylinder base model. JL4 Wagon V8 (A) Midrange V8 wagon with traction control, wood paneling, and a third row. JL4 V8 Luxe Towing Package Luxury model with a larger V8 engine, stability control, and more chrome. The towing package adds stronger anti-roll bars, uprated rear suspension, an LSD with a shorter final drive, a larger radiator, and a modest power increase. Maximum tongue weight is 300 lbs. JL4 1250 kg Polished Hang on, this isn't a Grand Marshal! But it is an enclosed cargo trailer specifically tuned to work well with the above towing config. You can also tow the default travel trailer, but I recommend removing either the rock guard or propane bottles to get the tongue weight down to 300 lbs. JL4 Wagon V8 Beater Clapped-out wagon with utterly destroyed shocks, misaligned suspension, mismatched and underinflated tyres, overloaded and lopsided. Oh, and it's actually a gutless V6, don't tell anyone...
