In this very thread, the early Imprezas were mentioned as closest real life counterparts to the Sunburst. Well, bread-and-butter Imprezas looked like average rentals and had no visual presence whatsoever, and now that's the case with the Sunburst, too. Flared fenders is exactly the functional styling cue Subaru applied to an otherwise fairly generic design to emphasize the sporty character of the higher-end models. To be honest, I love the Sunburst getting a more differentiated (and realistic) range. Besides, you can install Sport panels on lower-end models if you really want it.
I think everyone can be happy that it is not carbon copy of base model Lancer, that just does not have anything else but boring in it, it is like Corolla, but bit more bland and boring. Both are models that have built rally weapons from very boring generic cars, which sell because of being so generic that they don't cause any strong emotions to disturb the sales.
The new Sunburst is growing on me. Yet it could be Stockholm syndrome. Either way, from the rear, I'm kinda liking the stance it has. Maybe the Sunburst just went through a weight loss program, can't judge him. Now he's gonna get all the Pessima's Don't ask
Old Sunburst ready to roll! And as we are already discussing the Sunburst here, take a look at its strange interior. The seat material appears to be a leather/perforated leather combination, which is normally found in expensive cars, but all Sunbursts have it as well. It would make sense for the top trims to have it, but certainly not the base ones. Plus, the seats are very low quality compared to the steering wheel.
A lot of it depends on the angle. The Sport RS's aero kit saves it, but the Street - Tuned and other wingless, splitterless models definitely suffer from certain angles where the lack of the sharp flares makes them look longer and more "tubular" than they probably should (as the flares are still much smoother even on the sports models). Once the Oldburst mod is on the repo I'll be able to spawn them up side by side for a direct comparison from all angles. (For example: Ytrewq's screenshot actually makes the new one look fairly decent, ironically enough, but the angles of the devblog screenshots and the vehicle selector thumbnails make them look weak relative to what they were.)
These are obviously fabric with typical 90s pattern and from a much older car. Again, cheap Japanese compact has so little to do with luxury that it doesn't make sense to imitate it.
That is 2004 Subaru Impreza. Just paint with better seat texture then, problem solved --- Post updated --- Or you can just pretend it has this set https://www.bodykits.com/i-24264669-subaru-impreza-saddleman-leatherette-seat-cover.html
this has to be the most ridiculous thread i've seen in a while go find an old sunburst file and modify it if you care so much it's such a minor thing on such a boring car, it's not like the sunburst was some lamborghini that got converted into a civic and a riot over developer(s)'s choice like what the hell grow up?? feedback not riot jeez man
I think some people here are missing the point. The cars were not redesigned to look better, they were simply made to be more reallistic. Car bodies in real life, even when dealing with square 80s cars, are quite rounded at the sides, with a lot of pillar curve, which the cars in BeamNG didn't replicate well. This was dealt with adequately and the cars look far more believable now than they ever have.
Yeah, no. It looks much less weird and wide now than before, plus its a base model version, its supposed to be dull.
Most of us probably would not have even noticed the changes on any cars if the devs did not mention them. I don’t have much of an opinion on the Sunburst’s changes. I like the old one a little more, but I don’t think the new one looks bad.
The change isn't even that noticeable, is it really worth making a big deal out of? I think it's 'bout time this thread gets locked before it stirs up some drama. Although I did like the older Sunburst a little more, I wouldn't mind if the older version was brought back though.
If all you want is that CURVED arch, just put the Widebody on it.. You guys are soo dramatic over a Little change, which is BETTER. They Re-sized Most of the Cars.. which is A good step Forward.
