Something I realized recently was how all the lights on BeamNG vehicles in the game act like LEDs in the way that they light up and turn off instantly, such as when you hit the brake pedal or turn on the headlights. However, some cars in the game come before the time of LED lighting technology or it being common on cars. I think a good little detail for a bit more realism is for cars with incandescent bulbs to have a brief period where they take to achieve full brightness as the filament warms up, as well as the brief period of time which takes the bulbs to become completely off. The same can be applied to headlights and turn signals where there is a moment when the light bulb warms up and achieves its intended brightness.

+1 Shouldn't be hard to code, just have the light intensity start from zero and then go up to full in a designated time.
