I really like the game, and I've had it for a little over 2 years - playing every time a new update comes out or when I have some down-time. I am by no means an extremely active player, but I feel I have bits of constructive criticism that I wanted to talk about here, since I want to see it develop into it's full potential.

From a marketing and target-audience theme, I can understand where they're taking the game and it makes sense. The last couple of major updates really improved the game's menus and user-friendly screens, while still keeping the exact same level, if not more, of tuning and customization - however, it seems that each update had a different art director.

The garage menu has a sleek black look with red accenting, but that's just one menu from the main screen - one with white and grey tabs of each option and cinematics of the game's maps, which are generally quite bright. The game's interface with orange, white and grey themes stays pretty consistent until you play a campaign and see cartoon-style cutscenes and characters.

The garage menus look very "racing" to me and fit with those sorts of highly developed games, and the main menu fits with the original game mechanics - very simulation-like and remnant of a physics demo. After that, I really don't know where the cutscenes fit in. They don't really fit in with any menus or the game itself. They are beautifully done, but I don't understand the need for them.

I'd also like to note that while recent updates push campaign and racing modes, there is still a lot of simulation and physics. The dev-blog suggests improvements are being made on both fronts, but I don't know if the game can do both.

I'm not trying to bash or diminish the game in any way - I'm happy I paid for Beam NG and I can see the copious work and improvements the game has received throughout my playthrough.
