I'm working on this map and I thought since this is a driving game, there should be areas where you would want to enter an area that might have a gate blocking the entry, so I made this gate for a entry, and I was wondering if its possible to have a coded system for when a vehicle drives up close enough to a gate it will open. I'm not to familiar with TQ3D's coding system and if it allows this but, I was just though about it. Gate closed, vehicle comes close enough: (imported from here) Gate now opens when activated: (imported from here)
I assume it would be possible with triggers like the ones coming up in the race update, it if is possible, it would create so many opportunities for map makers.
I know, that's what I thought when I was making this layout, if its possible, it would make BNG some what better for the player, it will give that "real time" feel to it.
Most racing games solve this by simply crashing through it. Obviously that's not an option for BeamNG as it's a simulator.
That could be the case, if the gate was coded with jbeam. But I wouldn't truly know how that would turn out with certain parts.
