I think, the adjusting acceleration will add some realism and fun to driving, i'd like to see it how in ArmA series. So there will be a 3 (for example maybe, if you want, it can be more) modes of gas that can be linked to 3 separate buttons or combination of buttons: 1)Usuall mode - 50-60% of engine power uses (Gas pedal pushed as half). 2)Fast mode - All 100% of power uses (Pedal in pushed to the floor). 3)Slow mode - 20-30% of engine power uses (Pedal is pushed little bit). I think it will some improve the handling, as you know in ROR there was some handling nuances, when you push the acceleration button, the car begins to uncontrolled drifting, uses all engine power, when it isn't need. So, it's all that i want to tell. (sorry for my poor english)
The problem in ror was largely the tire model. Your idea is to make the engines behave unrealistically instead?
He means more control over the car based on button presses, similar to how in an FPS you can use Shift + W to sprint. Something like this would be helpful especially for rear wheel drive vehicles.
So this would only be for keyboard use then? Because with a game-pad or wheel you can control the throttle input manually anyway.
They could use the same keys as Arma II (not sure about the others) uses, Q=slow W=standard E=Fast (Or W with Shift which is the same as E).
Yes, the gamepad and steering wheels will obviously use their axes, this is to aid keyboard drivers, because the key for throttle is generally a switch(on or off) and it can be hard to control a car like that, for example when you want to drive slower. I think using the ArmA keys would be good too, they are really easy to use.
Diffrent modes of traction/launch controll would be nice, especially for people who play with a keyboard. Some cars in RoR were just uslessly spinning their tires without moving an inch. Diffrent modes would be nice: Slow mode - for normal-style/granny-style driving Medium mode - for normal/aggresive driving POWAAAAR mode - for full power > being able to do burnouts (if the vehicle has enough power.
Sounds pretty good, but a shoutout to other PC players: Most of you already know this but If you have an xbox 360 controller lying around in your house, You can buy a 10-15$ receiver that allows you to use it on your pc wireless. Or you can make one yourself like I did. That's my plan for this.
Potato has got the idea: On the contrary to what many people assume, the plug that you use to charge the controller will NOT allow it to be used on the PC.
I use a Dualshock 3 connected by USB. No problems at all, the computer thinks it's an xbox controller so it works in every game.
