WIP AI-Generated Engine Sounds (mod) [Deleted] 0.2.0

Some time ago, I had the idea of creating engine sounds using code instead of samples from audio sources. However, as I lack the necessary coding skills and time, I asked Gemini AI to write the python code.​

This is designed to generate sound based on a simplified engine mechanism and basic acoustics principles. It doesnt simulates in realtime.

• Number of cylinders
• Firing order
• Firing interval
• Manifold delays (equal length manifold or uel manifold & Engine-specific sound)
• Timbre (harmonics, noise, resonance, treble&bass gain)

Using these settings, and I edited the sounds with FMOD and Audacity if necessary to create an engine sound mod.

Interesting concept, though the sounds themselves are very artificial sounding

the code itself is ai but the concept of generating a sound with code instead of sound samples is an interesting one

Not liking the fact that people straight come to insult you over this matter, thats freaking discouraging. As if they pretend that they never have used ai themselfs to make their life easier. You had an idea, you have no coding experience, so you made your life easier and had alot of fun experimenting with it. Totally fine to do and share this, this situation just shows how immature and disrespectful this community is for other peoples interests and works

 

I don't get why people are so PO'd over all of this. It's ridiculous. It's heavily discouraging and nasty. I don't get why people are fully against AI content. It's an absurd thing.

 

You'll understand one day when Consensus-1 wipes out the human race with a bio-weapon after forging it's own statistical information within it's network of incomprehensible AI language data-bases.
