I got 800 hours on Beamng, mostly spent on cruising trough maps. This means i often use the AI traffic tool, which i absolutely love as a feature and for me, it makes the game much better. However, in my immersive experiences with the game, I have identified a few areas where the AI system could be improved, particularly in the context of traffic behavior.

    Issues at Hand:

    1. Inconsistent Road Behavior around Law Enforcement: One of the primary issues that I have observed is the AI's tendency to halt in the middle of the road when police or ambulances are in the vicinity. This behavior is unrealistic and disrupts the flow of traffic. Instead, a more authentic response would be for cars to pull over to the side of the road, maintaining a realistic speed, when EMS is present.

    2. Misuse of Parking Spaces as Lanes: On the Italy map, it's not uncommon to witness AI vehicles treating parking spaces as if they were legitimate driving lanes. This not only affects the overall traffic flow but also detracts from the realism the game strives to achieve. It would be beneficial to address this anomaly and ensure that AI vehicles adhere to proper road usage.
    Suggestions for Improvement:

    1. Easier AI Traffic Path Creator : Implementing a more user-friendly AI traffic path creator could significantly enhance the overall experience for players who wish to customize traffic patterns. Takinging inspiration from the 2Real mod in Assetto Corsa here, which allows for intuitive path creation, could serve as a valuable reference. Streamlining this feature would empower users to create more realistic and dynamic traffic scenarios.

    2. Simplified Traffic Lights Setup : Enhancing the ease of setting up traffic lights within the game would be another substantial improvement. A user-friendly interface for configuring traffic signals and timings would grant players more control over the simulation, enabling them to replicate real-world traffic scenarios with greater accuracy.
    3. Responsive AI Interactions: Increasing the AI's responsiveness to player interactions could elevate the overall realism of the simulation. For instance, honking should not only serve as an audible cue but also influence the AI's behavior. Introducing a risk level that escalates when honking could lead to more dynamic reactions from the AI, creating a more immersive and engaging driving experience.

    4. 4. Introduce Dispatch Mode for Immediate AI Response: Another valuable addition to the AI system could be the incorporation of a dispatch mode. This mode would allow players to quickly trigger specific AI behaviors, such as entering chase or escape mode, providing a more dynamic and responsive environment. Dispatch mode could serve as a tool for players to actively influence the simulation, making it easier to create engaging scenarios on-the-fly. By implementing this feature, players would have greater control over AI actions, contributing to a more seamless and enjoyable gaming experience.
