Ai races similar performance cars?

I tried googling around a bit, but i had no luck in finding an answer, so i'm sorry in the case this is yet another post like this.

Recently there have been added AI races, EG, the 3 tracks around the Hirochi racetrack. My issue is that no matter what car you choose, the ai has predetermined cars, which might be both way faster or way slower cars than the one you are racing with. Is there any way you can force AI to take cars of similar performance? aside making your own custom track
