AI stuck to neutral gear when using xbox one controller

hey guys,

I really love setting up the AI to randomly drive around and my goal is getting them totalled without totalling myself. But currently this doesnt work for me with my xbox one controller.

when I start the game and load the map, setting up the AI, everything works for the first one to three "chasedowns", but then randomly after resetting both cars, the AI fails to accelerate the car because it suddenly is locked into neutral gear every time I switch back to MY car.

why is that so? that sucks big time, all I can do currently is play with keyboard, it really sucks.

what is your advice?

Go to your keyboard. Make sure you're on the other car. Press Q until you see arcade automatic or automatic. Should fix your problem. it it doesn't let me know.

 

No, just Arcade Automatic. Regular automatics take shifting and the a.i can't do that at the moment.

ok... it didnt fix it, because it didnt change anything. the AI car remains in arcade mode. if i manually switch it to the other modes and back to arcade, no effect. everytime i switch to my car, the AI is in neutral gear...

something else I noticed: the more often I reset both cars, the "bigger" the influence on the AI car. after a couple more resets of both cars, AI mode cant even shift anymore if it is the selected vehicle.

so order of events is:

1. game start
2. map loads
3. setting up both cars
4. AI shifting works for first one to two times
5. AI shifting fails if AI car isnt selected, occuring after two to three+ resets of both cars
6. AI shifting fails in every situation (car selected or not) after some more resets of both cars.
