I can also vouch that this happens. I don't know for certain how to duplicate it, because it happens (at least for me) at random. I mean, I get that they're supposed to be driving "random" but that is a little bit... too random ;)

You could set the route as an one way road and then the AI shouldn't have any reason to turn around

I think I saw somewhere else that, if you do that, the AI would still be derpy and not go the correct way. It was just implemented this update, so I bet there are bugs...

    (@bob.blunderton could probably explain better)

That's odd and also managed to replicate.
    We are looking into it.

Also, I've been noticing that the AI has a weird habit of locking up their brakes mid-turn, resulting in annoying crashes. I've been noticing this on pretty much every map in the game, especially JRI, and it's really strange (and not all that helpful).

It's not just mid-turn, the AI also brakes pretty much before every intersection, even when it's going straight. This makes it too easy to catch up to.

My guess is that it is because of AI path selection changes conditions and path selection ends up into loop where it constantly changes which path to take, to turn or to go straight, can't decide, this continues until path selection can't select but one path. You can see front wheels flicking a lot in those situations.

Path selection should be pre-calculated to get rid of that issue, that is of course just my guess.

Update: Using AI app and selecting Span mode for AI seems to work best for me, but even in that mode, next target could be chosen bit earlier than AI starts to brake for reaching the target.
