...working on a beamNG - map based on LiDAR data representing an alpine mountain range in actual dimensions and heights..
Ou voll denäbegschosse! Hei namal. And what are you putting in this topography? Animated chairlifts? A deadly mountain pass?
the raw sketch for the mod is: - mid-range panorama racetrack with nice views on the mountains - drift track uphill/downhill - hillclimbing challenge(s) + gimmicks: - dragonfly down the valley from one of the peaks - motorsledge downhill short track BUT after importing the terrain to the engine there have been so many problems already in the beginning of the design process, that i have serious doubts about modding in beamNG being a good idea. at this point i am thinking about using the unreal engine and build a simple arcade flight game based on the terrain data instead of struggling with all the bugs and problems with beamNG and looking for workarounds. i really hate to work with tools and programs that are instable and not working as expected at all, and looking at the long development of beamNG i would not expect to see the major bugs dissapear in the near future. so today i am not sure if this mod will ever be finished espc. since the support and help along this forum is not really substantial.
I don't feel that way I am starting to kinda like World Editor … It's the same as Photoshop or Blender: As soon as you start getting the general logic you start progressing faster and faster.
