As I have a very low budget, I am stuck with an AMD quad of some sort. Which CPU would be best for BeamNG Drive with a GTX 750 Ti 2gb from Asus?
    AMD Fx-4350 @ Stock speeds (4.2GHz)
    OR
AMD Athlon X4 860K @ 3.7GHz (Stock Speed), which is basically a A10-7850k without the GPU cores

As I am upgrading from a Core 2 Duo and Gt610, with only 4gb DDR2, anything will be an improvement.
EDIT: Buying used is not an option as I need a warranty for peace of mind and the heavy usage it will go through.

Even if you can get a build with a used I5 2500k it'll be amazing compared to that, see what you can find, look around.

As you've stated you have an AMD Quad Core..

AMDs in their newest form havn't improved much other than advertising numbers.. their CPUs have lack luster single core operation for programs like BeamNG where you need to allocate a ton of power towards one core. /=

You'd need a Motherboard swap and maybe a new case for an I5-2500/k so that route is a little more pricy but you'd be very well off.

An I5-3570k is also good if you could get a deal on the Ivy-Bridge generation one.

If you are running an old enough PC tho you might be looking at needing new ram

Do you have DDR3 or DDR2?

DDR3 and your good to go there.

    what is your budget?

Yes but if you're looking for purpose building for Beam AMD isn't really a great option

CORE 2 DUO... that's an Intel socket, you'd need a new mobo to use your AMD in... which Core 2 Duo is that?

EDIT: Buying used is not an option as I need a warranty for peace of mind and the heavy usage it will go through.

CPUs are strong and very hard to fault these days.

I'm afraid you misunderstood, my budget limits me to AMD as I need a Quad, check out benchmarks for the single core performance, they are pretty good. And this is a whole new build, not an upgrade.

Something like £300, not including GPU as I have been given a GTX 750 Ti OC from someone who had compatibility problems. I need to buy EVERYTHING with that budget. (Well, all internals)

    *Facepalm*

With that kind of money you could buy a used Intel CPU

Get a new MoBo and ram and run 'er just fine, may even have money left over for a case if need be.

Since you will need a new mobo for DDR3 support on a 1155 socket for an I5-2500K

    500Watt Power Supply £32

    Budget CPU Setup
    33 + 33 + 32 + 50 + 121 = £269 Before taxes fees/shipping

    Extra Power CPU
    33 + 33 + 32 + 50 + 155 = £303 Before taxes fees/shipping

Save up the extra and get a decent mother board too and you'll have a great setup.

So a little bit expensive, but if you saved up a bit more it would all be worth while in the long run

Overall you'd get alot more bang for a little more buckz ;)

I5s don't have to be muti-hundred dollar CPUs if you look.

And a used I5-2500 [Not as worth it in the long run]
    Would run you maybe £80-105

    You'd need a LGA1155 board though.

Do you really need a case or a PSU? Cause if not, that saves a chunk of cash.

FX-8350 runs every vehicle in the game above 30fps and its literally dirt cheap. But if you can afford an Intel of any kind above a 2500 they can out perform it easy.

It can run a T75 (At least when overclocked) at 60FPS on Grid. Any extra vehicles or a T75 on a vegetated map and the FPS tanks. But up to that point, it's nice and smooth framerates.
