Mods.... They used to work perfectly, then they stopped, then the devs told everyone how to mod on the newer versions and they worked again.... Well randomly they stopped working for me again. Around 5 maybe less months ago I literally stopped playing the game due to my mods no longer showing up in game. They were installed correctly and all, but just were not showing up in game. This issue still exists for me today, and yes I know about the easy way of installing mods from the forums.... but lets face it, this forum has jack for mods and I'd like the 20 plus I had before. So is there a way to install mods from other sites? These mods used to work perfectly fine, and now I cant get them to work no matter what I do. I'd love a response from a dev if not a guide on how to install mods manually, but at this point any help is welcome.
Mods from other sites commonly steal models without crediting the author and use poorly constructed j-beams (physical models of the vehicle). Tread carefully. However if you do still want to install mods from other sites, do the following: Download the mod (should be a .zip folder) Put the .zip folder (DO NOT EXTRACT IT) into your Documents/BeamNG.Drive/mods folder Run the game
With mods that are from websites other than this one, you won't get any more support than you have already gotten. Contact the author of the mod to get any further support.
some mods will just not work because they use some of the old ways of doing cars in beamng. if no one else will fix them, fix them yourself. other then that, if you want to try some of them anyways, put them like this in your beamng's folder. quick note, the folder called pickup.zip is NOT a zip file, its a folder called like that. do the same but with the mods name instead.
^ I do that, and the vehicle will not show up for selection. Then when I go to the active mods tab... the mod is there and lit up green... idk whats going on.
whatever is going on is user error not game error, even the low quality WoM shit works sometimes (well, some have broken JBeams, but they do at least appear in game)
Is there any way I could link the mod to you and see if it works for you? --- Post updated --- Because I highly doubt that there was miraculously something wrong with mods that had worked for months without any hook ups
describe where you've installed the mods. ANd yes, there have been changes to required file structure.
Because I highly doubt that there was miraculously something wrong with mods that had worked for months without Documents\BeamNG.drive\mods\ the file is a winrar zip
Can you send a screenshot? If it's a .zip and not working then... better yet send me a screenshot and what you can't get to work.
The answer is simple, mods from other sites usually are meant to be unzipped in the vehicles folder in game, you can fix that in two ways: You create a vehicles folder in the documents directory and put the modded car folder from the zip into it. It will be like: User/Documents/BeamNG.drive/vehicles/mod You could create a vehicles folder inside the zip and put the modded car folder into it and then put the .zip into the mods folder. It will be like: User/Documents/BeamNG.drive/mods/mod.zip. The .zip file will be like: Mod.zip/vehicles/mod I hope you understood this tutorial and i suggest you to be careful with external site mods, they are not so good
You said a bad word . Third step: Check your English. Please use proper spelling and grammar. Keep in mind that not every person in the world uses English as their first language, so please try to use correct capitalization, punctuation, paragraphs and spelling. This makes it easier for everyone to read your posts. Do not use profanity even as a joke.
Also, I thought mods from other sites were actually not allowed...they must've changed that. Either way the only place you should get mods from is from the official BeamNG site.
The file structure of the mod has to be set up like below. IF it still doesn't work the files need to be updated. (which most LQ mods from WOM etc won't, be updated.) Code: Vehicle mod Mod ZIP > vehicles > Mod Folder > Content (files) Map Mod Mod ZIP > levels > Mod Folder > Content (files)
TBH, if mods from other sites arent allowed, then this game has a very very very limited selection of mods. All of my favorite mods, the mods that actually kept me playing the game, are on other sites and no where to be found here. Its a bit upsetting in all reality.
