Are we going to see any support for tunnels in the future by means of clearing terrain where it is not needed? Example:
This would realy be something great to see! Im going to take a place in the row of supplicants here. Specialy as 3D meshes cant be set to anything else than the physical settings of concrete afaik. I guess that aspect is planned to be changed at some point (too).
Yes, but they cheated. I don't think that is a particularity good looking, elegant or performance optimized way of doing this.
AND its concrete! I want kilometer long tunnels with grass or mud on top, you can model and texture that and even spawn groundcover on it, but it will behave like concrete. And if it should not be one flat polygon, but realistic terrain, you need thousands of polygons imo.
same thing happened to me hours of work just to bump into air. i even tried to spawn another "gridmap/terrainblock" to act as a kind of celing, but that didnt work either. it cant be that hard to set up having the coll. mesh erased with the vissible one when you "clear" the terrain.
I remeber the far cry 2 days when I used to be legit pro at making maps. I made an awesome tunnel u used to sneak into a base by having a tower go underground and have an entrance to was a tunnel covered in rocks with woods all over the top. What's that gotta do with beamng? Map editor super similar
yep, also, for some reason, at first glance of your message, i thought you said farttastic, ended up lol'ing, i then proceeded to re-read your message
