    GPU- £425
    GPU- £150
RAM- £80 (For double the RAM)
ASUS z170 Pro MoBo (not sure what is used in the alienware)- £133
PSU (Corsair CP something 750w)- £70
    HDD (2TB)- £50
Case- £100 for a nice one
    Windows 10 pro- £9
H100I (water cooling for cpu)- £110
    Total= £1127 ($1370)
$300 left over for monitor, keyboard and mouse?
The CPU and GPU are the same as the $1700 alienware, and you could probably do with upgrading the GPU to get the performance from the CPU.

Not remotely excited. Having handled several alienware machines, I predict its final rating will be 3/10. Hugely overpriced for specification, even for a pre built. Lowest build quality I have ever seen with most of their rigs hitting thermal throttle at low-medium load.

Abysmal machines. Highly recommend not using.

I wouldnt upgrade to it, doesnt seem as good as what I have got, mine cost more to build in November 2015, but what I have is more than sufficient for my needs I know I have upgrade routes in the future but that AW Area-51 I would consider limited in terms of upgrade path because of the motherboard options in it

Well... As far as I'm concerned, Alienware computers are more a scam than anything.

The dell laptops, for the same price as some Alienware, are far better...

Well, it activated fine and has run ever since (purchased about 5 months ago?) - but it was off one of those key websites so they probably purchased in bulk for 'office use' or something so they can sell for so cheap.

    Prebuilts. Ugh.
Custom pcs are the best in MOST situations, like my $400 build that plays any game max settings at ~50 FPS 1080p.

its alienware, tbh id rather save a ton of money and get an Optiplex 790 and stick a good GPU in there (GTX 960?) not good for upgrading but its fantastic otherwise
    *for the money*

For the kind of money that is required for the base machine (not that I would ever buy it. A GTX 950 is not enough horsepower for a rig like that), and similar spec, I would build this, as it has more RAM, a much better GPU, and an SSD. What I would personally build for the money, with different spec, would be this.

wait hang on, so a GTX950 build from alienware is the same price as an X99 GTX1070 build, who the hell would buy a GTX950 Alienware!
