I have a Dell Inspirion 530 with unbuntu on it, but one thing is missing, a malware scanner. I first thought about malwarebytes and tried it, but when I went to open malwarebytes, it wouldnt open it, even though I was using wine windows program loader. So now I don't know of a malware scanner for linux.
Anyone know of a good malware scanner for linux that would be compatible with ubuntu?

dont really need it. And as it is, malwarebytes will only scan for windows malware so entirely useless to you on linux.

Linux permissions system is far more robust against malware than windows and its generally very rare in the first place.

Getting viruses on Linux is very unlikely

Extremely dangerous Windows installation found on your hard drive. Delete? Okay/Delete

Maybe Windows Defender defends against Windows?

    the fuck
    this is not windows
i use linux for a fair bit of my life and never touched the slightest of virus protection, because they just don't happen around here.
well, they do, but they are generally unlikely, they don't happen unless the user is dumb enough to let them happen by giving permissions to the wrong files etc etc

It was a joke. And yes, Linux (provided the user doesn't have a potato for their brain) doesnt really get viruses.

    You said that.
Yeah, that's why the beest you can do when you shot your Windows is a Linux on a DVD with all kinds of Malware programs (Avira, etc. etc.). There are people who make those DVDs every year with the newest versions of those programs and then sell those in masses.
