Hi guys, just cant explain how much i love your engine!!!! I read another post about how the updates are going and about how behind the scenes theres alot of talking with other producers going on! well i was just wondering what kind of producers are looking into this software! its so amazing and easy to implement with more and more games being made with the Cry engine SDK. Thankyou and good luc with your project!
I don't think they will release this to other game producers yet. They want to make their own game (which is gonna be AMAZING ). I don't know if it will ever be released for other companies to use. I'd wait for Gabester to reply. He knows more...since he's one of the people making the game .
The whole point of the beamng physics engine is to license it out and rake in the $, thats the whole point. The reason they are making the game, is to test- R&D and demo their tech to prospective clients and fans alike.
Yeah. But if their game is super successful, why would they want to sell their secret weapon? If things go well they could sell it to other major companies to use, but if sales are way over expectations, they might just keep it. After all, why would they give away (sell) a money-making secret when they can use it to make even more? Sorry, a bit convoluted there...
the idea is to license their software I think. When you license it you can set certain terms or contracts. Hypothetically the company that purchases a license from BeamNG either has to pay an annual fee, or a percentage of the income they make to BeamNG or whatever the terms of the license are. BeamNG will make alot more money taking cuts from other companies incomes on-top of producing their own game than simply releasing their own game alone.
apparantly Havok and Nvidia ? are both dabbling in soft body physics now that gaming hardware is powerful enough to support it, and they'll probably be the ones to bring it to the mainstream.
I thought the whole point (beside making a couple of bucks) was to have this used in bigger gaming-titles, such as GTA for example... -To just improve gaming in general... Might be wrong though.
I think Open World Free Roam game developers like RockstarGames or any other might license this some day, OFC when the next generation Consoles arrive.
