8gb is good for beam (from my experience), but 16gb is the best option for people not wanting to spend alot on ram

Steam hasn’t updated the requirements in a while. If you’re planning to play on low-normal graphics, 8gb is fine. But 16gb is best (it’ll also improve the overall performance of your pc!)

No, not exactly. Unless you turn off shadows, anti aliasing, and other stuff, then yes. But please, don’t stress too much about it!:)

I have a HP Omen 15 (2060 Model) but only came with 8gb ram which on BeamNG slowed the laptop down to the point where I was struggling to get 20 frames at very low settings. I upgraded to a 16gb Crucial DDR4 ram which incredibly improved the performance.
before I was getting sub 20 frames on very low but now I can get 30-40 frames on ultra graphics or 70-80 frames with medium graphics (both running at 1920x1080 Quality)

Yeah, 1x8 usually means single channel, 2x4 is just 8 gb but dual channel.

(Another example: 1x16 is a single 16 gb RAM stick, 2x8 GB is 2 of 8 GB RAM sticks combined to make it 16 GB of RAM in total + dual channeling)

Sorry to bother, how does the game run and what resolution and graphics do you play on? Do you think the performance will drastically drop if i get something with maybe a 11th gen i5 instead of an i7 or a ryzen 5 5800H for example?
