The AI should be more aware of cliffs or ledges and obstacles just saying

Would it be nice if the AI behaved intelligently in avoiding terrain and static objects? Yes. Is it reasonable to expect the developers (who are a small studio) to code the incredibly complex AI routines that it would take to make that happen? Not so much.

There's no pathfinding right now. Hopefully it will come in the future.

There is a lot of planning behind AI.
Before the current status it was totally dumb. It wasn't able to drive on road, or similar, just go or escape from a player, without avoiding obstacles inbetween.
Currently it's almost there. It's not yet able to create path on it's own, but if you define a path, it's able to set the optimal speed to drive on it without loosing grip, taking bumps and road inclination/width in account.
    Just give it some time.

I see that the Flee AI was brought back but that is sort of useless. why not bring back the more useful Attack Player AI that was used for Demo Derby events and such, now we cannot have a use for derby spec vehicles anymore besides just to test their strength.

    Work in Progress.

Well was it necessary to remove the completely fine working "chase player" ai? I know it wasn't perfect with the whole ai drives into you forever and never thinks to reverse but it was still fun and useful for a lot of things.

Exactly why though? was it game breaking? why remove a feature that was working.

That was answered before. Entire AI was stripped. Entire AI has been reprogrammed. If the entire AI was removed, then a previously working feature isnt going to work anymore, it needs rewriting for the new AI.

    Pretty much common sense.

You are not making any sense, "because it just hasn't been done yet" tdev said it was a missing feature, now your implying that it will happen and it hasn't yet? Also thanks for not saying its common sense.

New and old systems would conflict. Plain and simple. Chase will be added eventually.

Ok, thank you for explaining. other than just saying "its common sense" because that doesn't help anybody.

Its already been said that the feature will be coming back and improved. If you would use some common sense you'd have seen the many posts on the subject.

I keep using "common sense" much to your chagrin because it really is common sense.

    "It's common sense"

    "It's common sense"

    "It's common sense"

    "It's common sense"

Being a coder isn't common sense, knowing that changes to AI means that a fallback feature that could be implemented hasn't/might not ever be made. Knowing it may need updating isn't common sense, the devs never made a statement on that.
